There are some who aren't too active right now. And I know one Buddhist who used to be quite active here who has decided these forums are not so good for his spiritual well-being.

Spiritual well-being... How so?

Eastern religion followers like buddhism , hinduism , taoism are usually not as voilent as we see in Islam and Christianity. They are more interested in philosphy and deep spiritual talks whereas western religion followers are usually more engaged in voilent arguments as we can see in discussions of this forum. Thats what i have personally noticed.

Even I dont see some of the Hindus nowadays - what happened?

I don't come here much do to threads getting almost nowhere! I get much knowledge from reading book then here about other religions.

Above all I find that there is very little peace here, mostly coming from the Christians, sadly:(

This seems to be the case, very true!

I wouldn't say that. It largely depends on the school of Buddhism you're looking at. Some forms of Buddhism are pretty much just a philosophy, while others, (Tibetan, for example) are clearly a religion.

ie: What he said.

It may just be that I haven't hung around long enough, but it seems there are almost no Buddhists here. Why do you think that is?
Just my opinion, but this particular forum has been on a downward spirial of demonization and retaliation for quite a while now, so it's not surprising to see people who aren't into that kind of thing cease or significantly reduce the amount of posting here.

Yeah, I've noticed that. How long has it been like this? Has it gone through bad times and good times, or is it a pretty steady decline?

Sadly, I must agree. I miss many of the people who used to post here more regularly. And the discussions, too. I haven't found another venue that compares well with what this forum used to be.

And I realize that what "used to be" means for me may be something quite different than what it may mean to people who've been around longer. They may be nostalgic for something I never saw.
