  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why seek "God"?

the true One can stop the manifestation of the "darkness" and He is about to accomplish it, but the "darkness" simply can't be destroyed completely and permanently for all the time's infinity, because it is after all indestructible...

do you think you could resolve the problem once and for all the time's infinity if you were in His place?! - the fact that God can't change something doesn't mean that He is weaker than the "darkness" or that you are more powerful than Him or that He is not the only true God...

Perhaps another way of looking at that piece of scripture that might work for you is as myth with built in spiritual learning lessons. And it's the lessons that matters and not the event storied in the myth.

From birth we open our eyes and from there on it is a matter of observation.
I said I did not want to get caught up in this 38 page going nowhere thread.

One reason is;
Amal=Labor, suffering, also distress and despair.

The skeptic, more than any other challenger,
wears out the believer and causes him to despair.

(Amalek has the same value as doubt)
The Amalekites are no more, (dispersed)

But the spirit of skepticism is alive and kicking.

The skeptic can destroy, in an instant understandings and commitments that take years to establish.

Not by countering your argument with reason,
they dismantle it by mak.ing light of it.

why do you think if you use the word "mysticism" or "mystic" it will change something about betterment?! - mysticism is usually full of satanic things such as devilish spirits(kundalini, chakras, aum, etc.) and heresies(the doctrine of: three gunas, karma, samsara, etc.), so mysticism is dangerous...

I've been giving you example of where mysticism comes in with knowing Christ! How you tie in all of that other stuff to Christ is beyond me.

yes, if i wanted to live in an illusion, i would live in the comics of marvel and dc, but maybe you know even the greatest comic books' characters are not infinitely powerful...

I can agree that the lesson matters more than the historical event - we take the same perspective in early Buddhism.

The Dhamma (the teachings) matters more than the history behind it all, since we can test the teachings for ourselves in the here-and-now.

And Christianity is the story of how God comes to earth in human form to take those things on himself to help us escape them

Personally, I wouldn't mind finding that man someday

Jesus Christ talks about faith, not mysticism, or so what have you achieved by being a mystic, and so what have the mystics achieved through their so-called mysticism?!, Jesus as well as each of His true disciples presented in the Bible cast the devilish spirits completely and permanently out of the demon-possessed people They met, and healed the sick of all kinds of wounds, disorders, diseases, syndromes and invalidism without there having been any recurrence of any disease/syndrome/disorder afterward, resurrected dead in the true "Light", etc., while the so-called "mystics" have never done any of the things Jesus and His true disciples did two millennia ago...

where in the Bible do you find the word "mysticism"?!, nor can you find the words "spirituality" and "religiosity" therein, because spirituality equals to occultism/heretical movement, and religiosity equals to idolatry...
