But His sheep haven't endured forever...

sure they will, you'll see both Peter and Abraham. He is a God of the living, not of the dead.

Mar 12:24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the Scriptures, neither the power of God?
Mar 12:25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
Mar 12:26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
Mar 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

Luk 20:34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
Luk 20:35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
Luk 20:36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
Luk 20:37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
Luk 20:38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

Joh 11:21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
Joh 11:22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
Joh 11:23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
Joh 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Joh 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Joh 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

All who repent and believe and are baptized will never die. God will back me up on this one.

Only male homosexuality is condemned because back in Leviticus-times, they were attempting to build up the Jewish nation, (after the Babylon exile?) and [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] during gay intercourse was seen as "wasted sperm", sperm that could have gone to creating another Jewish baby.

At least, this is what a jewish girl has told me. (And, as we know, female [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] do not waste an egg each time.)

......... are you serious?

you don't seriously believe that right. God I hope not.

The Egyptian exile one would presume. Leviticus pre-dates the Babylonian exile.

However, I've got to be honest. I'm not 100% convinced by the explanation. It's possible but it needs more argument and evidence.

But at least they addressed the topic!

Why do you think that only male homosexuality is condemned?

Why would I think the law only applies to males? The law applies to females also.
Perhaps you are thinking of a different law. If so can you point me at it. The ones I know of are...
[bible]Leviticus 18:22[/bible]
[bible]Leviticus 20:13[/bible]
Neither of which mention female homosexuality.

Hmm. I would hope a Jew would know more about the history of Jewish law than a Christian, especially since they actually read it in Hebrew.

Also, as far as disease is concerned, penetration is more prone to disease than lesbian intercourse (which involves less penetration).

I'm not quite sure what that proves. Even I can read Biblical Hebrew. And I'm not sure why Jews should be expected to be more familiar with the history of Scripture than Christians.

So you're suggesting that people in developed nations in the year 2007 are making ethical dilemmas out of the mythological rites of a poor nomadic tribe from several millenia ago? Never! ;)

If you look at the rabbinical discussions in the Talmud and other ancient scholarly books, you will see that when the question came up it was quickly dismissed. The rabbis did not care if two women chose to "rub" up against one another. Whatever they did, they could not "lie" together sexually -- sex was assumed to require a male "member" penetrating an orifice in another body.

Oh I just can't wait til the day when all your false statements are weighed in the balance by God.

Dan 5:22 And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;
Dan 5:23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
Dan 5:24 Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.
Dan 5:25 And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
Dan 5:26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
Dan 5:27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
Dan 5:28 PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

Going to add something to the discussion, or just gloat from your high horse?

Gman, just ignore all the blasphemers of God's Word.

Those who think the Bible, which is God's Word, is just a book have no understanding of the things of Christ because the Holy Spirit that indwells and delivers truth does not reside in them.

Hmmm. Are all people who do not read the [parts of the] Bible [which fundamentalists like] literally "blasphemers"?

DEar Ollifranz,
No there are not not just five passages that address same-sex sex, there are at least a dozen... those passages where Jesus NT teaching affirms God's purpose as man and woman kind of exclude all sex outside marriage.

You chose to paraphrase me rather than quote me because then you could lie about what I said by leaving out an important word, and the following sentence.

I said that there are only five passages that directly speak to same-sex practices. I then went on to state that there are other passages that, if one a priori understands same-sex relations to be sinful, can also be used to condemn them.

But that is not the proper way to approach the Scriptures. You do not start with an assumption and then look for verses that seem to support that assumption. You go to the Scriptures with an open heart to learn God's will

Please dont try and dismiss the evidence others provide as not evidence even if you dont believe it.

Unlike you, I have never done so. If you can provide evidence, I will look at it.

All you have done is attempt once again to dispute some of the passages you think address same-sex sex, without having any of your own that countenance same-sex sex you are hardly in a good position.

I have admited that there are no examples of approved same-sex sex. However, there are, likewise no examples of approved cross-sex sex. All examples of sexual activity are examples of sin.

This does not mean, however, that all sex is sin. The Bible does approve of the marriage relationship, and there is more than ample evidence that the depth of that relationship includes sexual relations. The Bible simply treats those relations as private between he spouses, and so does not discuss them.

You might like to consider the passages that you think speak or seem to speak of homosexuality dont countenance it.

They speak of specific practices. If I were to to claim that all of the heterosexual sins meant that any straight sex was evil, I'd be just as mistaken.

My view is the passages are clear and your faith in same-sex sex is based on your disbeilef and lack of faith in Jesus Christ according to His Biblical testimony.

And it is my view that the Bible as a whole says nothing to condemn homosexuality, and that you are reading your own prejudices into the scriptures, rather than following the clear teachings of Jesus. And that you are not allowing the Holy Spirit to come in and teach your heart. If I were as judgmental as you, I might attribute it to disbelief, but I don't know you. And I prefer to assume someone is sincere in his belief until proven otherwise.
