When do you think Moses wrote things down?
How about Daniel?
Did Abraham live? Was a Seed to come from Abraham? Would all the nations get blessed because of this Seed someday?
Daniel told of the time slot when the Messiah would come.
And after threescore and two weeks....then later the holy sanctuary and the holy city would be destroyed.
Daniel 9:26
"And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off....shall come and destroy the city..."
This was all one determined time for desolating.
...desolations are determined.
And if he is not saved and teaching this people another gospel....he is in danger of eternal hell torment in the lake of fire...where his worm will die not.
Why are you telling this to us?And if he is not saved and teaching this people another gospel....he is in danger of eternal hell torment in the lake of fire...where his worm will die not.
What do you think Jesus meant when He referred to him here.... Luke 16:29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
Matthew 8:4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
Mark 1:44 And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
Mark 12:19 Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave [his] wife [behind him], and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
Mark 12:26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I [am] the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
Who are these two people?
2 Timothy 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
Whom do you think did then instead of Moses?
What do you think is the reason Moses is mentioned numerous times in the NT as linked up with the writings that are from the first five book of the Old Testament?
Why did the angel Gabriel come to Daniel in chapter 9? What time on the calendar was it?
Daniel 9:1 shows that it was the first year of Darius of the Medes. What is important too is that Babylon has fallen and the year is approximately 539 BC. It will be several years
before Cyrus will rule Babylon and release the Jews with a decree.
Daniel 7:1
In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon..."
Daniel 8:1
"In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar..."
Daniel 9:1
In the first year of Darius...the Medes..."
Daniel 10:1
"In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia..."
In chapters 7 and 8, Daniel was shown some time periods. This was to help him understand the prophecy told to him in Daniel 9.
Daniel 9:23
"...consider the vision."
What vision? Daniel did not say that he saw anything at this point as to visual scenes of
prophecy. In Daniel 7 and 8 though he was shown the events as to the last end of the indignation that would come upon his people.
Chapter 7 limited it to -a time and times, and the dividing of time.
Daniel 7:25
We also know that seven times passed over Nebuchadnezzar.
Daniel 4:25
Daniel 9 contains three sections of time.
determined times
70 determined weeks - plus a determined time of desolation that was not the last end of
the indignation that will come upon Israel.
In the first year of Darius the Mede, Daniel has come to read something confusing that he found written by Jeremiah as to 70 years of desolations. He prays, supplicates and even supplicated over the holy site and the holy city as in Daniel 9:17. Gabriel was commanded ot go to Daniel and reveal things to understand the matter as to Jeremiah 25:11-12. the Babylonian king has 70 years to desolate and rule the nations. Jeremiah 28:14 shows that Nebuchadnezzar went on the necks of the nations as the yoke of iron.
Starting with that approx. date of 605 BC and then all the way to 539 BC would not yet allow the Babylonians to have finished their time to be over Israel. This is why Daniel supplicated. He wanted to know when the time will come for the Babylonian kingdom to rise again and bring in the last end of the indignation that will fall upon Israel before there is peace and the Messiah rules here.
Moses also prophesied of this yoke of iron back in Deuteronomy 28:48 as a curse that would come upon Israel. Daniel mentions Moses in 9:13. Daniel 9:11 refers to "the curse".
Daniel 9:13
"As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us..."
