Of course I do.

Don't you see the problem there?
Consider a jihadist... He'll not consider it an "improvement". He'll consider it to be the opposite. And the only reason you'll disagree, is simply because of religious bias.

The kind of "character change" that would result from converting to that jihadist's brand of islam, would be considered horrible by us and an "improvement" by that jihadist.

But it has been shown that Christians live longer and their lives are considered happier than non Christians, so there is proof.
Nonsense.

Life expectancy goes hand in hand with stability, education level and technological prowess of a nation.

As for the "happy index", it's curious that the top countries are among the most secular countries in the world. As in, the least religious.

1. correlation does not imply causation
2. that was a study of "generic" religious services and no comparative studies were done between religions, so it doesn't say anything about christianity - if we would look passed your error in point 1.
3. it is about attending religious services. It does not speak about belief. Which is the point YOU were making. So, even if we ignore your mistunderstandings concerning this study, it still isn't relevant because it doesn't in any way concern the particular point you were making.

The link between religiosity and happiness has always been tenuous.

There have been other studies teasing out exactly what are the correlations and it looks like simply having a strong social network is what promotes health and longevity. When that variable is controlled there is no difference in happiness between the strongly religious, weakly religious, the agnostics, the atheists.

Also, if your society values religion highly you might get something of a happiness premium by belonging to the favored religion. There would be no such premium in the Nordic countries.

If you are in an area which is struggling economically you get more of a happiness premium from religiosity. However, you may be less happy than the economically secure atheist in a community of people who do not value religion as much as the struggling community.
