Hi CC,Does judgment day apply to those who are saved or only the unsaved?
Thanks for responding and with a scripture!!! - appreciated!Hi CC,
Good question. Jesus has taken the judgment for those in the Body of Christ and for the Old Testament Saints, both groups are in heaven. (Heb. 12: 23) Thus the judgment Day at the end of time is for all those who either have turned away from Jesus or have never heard of Him. Those who have never heard of Jesus but have honored God by their right actions/works will be able to go upon the new earth. The others will all go to the lake of fire. (Rev. 20: 11 - 15)
Certainly. `And I saw the dead, small and great standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened which is the book of life. And the dead were judged according to THEIR WORKS, by the things which were written in the books.` (Rev. 20: 12)Thanks for responding and with a scripture!!! - appreciated!
So those who have never heard of Christ are judged according to their works? I don't read that in the scripture you provided, can you point it out for me, please?
Thank you! So the 'dead' refers to only those who didn't have the opportunity to know Christ?Certainly. `And I saw the dead, small and great standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened which is the book of life. And the dead were judged according to THEIR WORKS, by the things which were written in the books.` (Rev. 20: 12)
The key scripture is John 5:28-29:Does judgment day apply to those who are saved or only the unsaved?
We all must appear before God on Judgement Day.Does judgment day apply to those who are saved or only the unsaved?
Thank you!We all must appear before God on Judgement Day.
2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Heb 4: 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
There is the resurrection of life for the saved and resurrection of death for the unsaved. Blessed are those in the first resurrection Rev 20:4-6 There is no Scripture that says everyone is saved. Jesus made that clear Mat7:21-23
He tells us how He judges us. Jesus is not just our friend and High Priest. He is also the King and kings have laws and standards. God never left it up to man to write His holy and eternal Laws. Exo 31:18 Deut 4:13 Exo 34:28 that sits under His mercy seat where justice and mercy will come together soon Exo20:6 Exo 25:21
Ecc 12.:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments,
For this is man’s all.
14 For God will bring every work into judgment,
Including every secret thing,
Whether good or evil.
Rev 14:7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”
James 2:11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty. The law of liberty, is the law that He who said -God's Testimony Exo 31:18 Deut4:13 which we can find in Exo20:1-17 Why its the law of liberty because if everyone was keeping them the way Jesus taught and lived Mat5:19-30 there would be no more sin and Jesus came to save us from our sins Mat1:21 not in them. Heb10:26-30
Why this is revealed at the last trumpet before Jesus comes
Rev 11:18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come,
And the time of the dead, that they should be judged,
And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints,
And those who fear Your name, small and great,
And should destroy those who destroy the earth.”
19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of [i]His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.
Rev 15:5 After these things I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened.
Exo 25:16 And you shall put into the ark the Testimony which I will give you.
Exo 31:18 And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.
Because believing is more than I believe in Jesus as many teach. Its the very first step in the process. Many stop at this first step and never wean themselves from milk to solid food. Sadly, its because that's what most churches teaches. They read one verse in the bible and stop there. The Bible is a Big book for a reason.Thank you!
I don't understand why believers are subject to judgment day. I thought we were saved from sin and damnation when we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. Why then do we have judgment day? It seems contradictory?
Thank you for such a comprehensive reply.Because believing is more than I believe in Jesus as many teach. Its the very first step in the process. Many stop at this first step and never wean themselves from milk to solid food. Sadly, its because that's what most churches teaches. They read one verse in the bible and stop there. If we look at our Bibles, faith comes from hearing Romans 10:17, those with faith believe - they have the faith in Jesus and of Jesus Rev 14:12 which means believe what He taught and live as He lived for our example 1 John 2:6 , and those with faith DO. James 1:22 Luke 6:46
God knows who are His and who are not. There are wheat and tares. Meaning there are people who seem godly, profess God's name, but they live in their sins never wanting to come to Jesus fully to surrender and forsake their sins - which means turn from Pro28:13 so while they think their are living in light, their are really living in darkness because they do not what to give us their sins John3:19-21 and live the Jesus asked us to. John14:15. Not to be saved, because thats what someone with faith does- Hear His voice and DOES what He asks. Not what we feel is right and wrong which is sadly what most people depend on. Instead of what He deems is righteous (right and wrong doing) Psa 119:172 Isa 56:1-2
Why He tells us what is going to happen at the end of time
Mat 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
1 John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God [a]is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
Judgement is because God knows who is His or not, many people think they can judge themselves if they are saved or not, but that is clearly for Jesus to decide, and He tells us plainly many believers -those who say Lord Lord will not enter His Kingdom.
