That is not true. There has never been a peaceful communist regime. There may have been more moderate ones just like there were more moderate fascist regimes (Nationalist Spain).Communism is usually not seen as evil as the other.
And some communitites have lived 'communism' without harming or oppressing any others.

Incorrect. The Most Serene Republic of San Marino was governed by a Communist/Socialist coalition between 1945 and 1957. I believe it was the only case of Communists being elected into power. My understanding is that there was an even split in the government so a new election was not called. A provisional government was instead formed in response to the constitutional crisis which organized a new election. What happened after only 12 years?
Because in today's uneducated SJW snowflake society communism = free stuff, and nazism = everything else.
Both the Nazis in Germany and the Communists in the Soviet Union and China were evil. Both killed millions of people. But the way the Nazis did it--the gold stars and pink triangles, the death camps, the showers, the crematoriums--just seems far more horrible.
Which is both sad and scary.I am abundantly aware of the history. Unfortunately, a lot of people aren't.

man...it's always surprising how short the memories are here in America. When I was a kid (and for decades before that) there wasn't anything worse then being called/thought of as a communist. Peoples lives/careers were destroyed over just attending a communist party meeting in their youth.
tulc(remembers things)
Probably because a true communistic society has never actually existed and actually could work in an ideal world where people are motivated by more than money. Also, communism is based on the principle of leveling the playing field and equality. This is opposed to Nazism as there has been true Nazi societies in the world, and some of the founding principles of it are racial and national superiority and hatred of others outside of your group.
You can, of course think that if you'd like.I know of no time in my lifetime when being called a Communist was worse than being called a Nazi. As Nazi Party meetings and people openly promoting Naziism were a bit more rare than Communist Party meetings and people openly promoting Communism in the US, I think perhaps your experiece of a much larger anti Communist sentiment may have been due to the lack of Nazis more than a general greater distaste for Communists.
