It also never says that the bishop of Rome is a Pope. You do nevertheless believe him to be so, don't you? And it never says that any Apostle or bishop is to have universal jurisdiction over Christ's Church. You do nevertheless believe that to be Christ's intent, do you not? The Bible never mentions Purgatory or Indulgences or the Assumption of Mary.

It sounds like we agree that the Bible never teaches that the Bible alone is the Word of God.

Then mightn't the doctrines you refer to be supported by a unity of the written and oral traditions (2 Thes 2:15)?

Also, I'm not conceding the oral tradition that Catholicism relies on oral traditions more than Protestantism. I think that Protestant absolutely insists on numerous oral traditions, including the oral tradition that 2 Thes 2:15 is no longer living and active, or--for example--that Purgatory (1 Cor 4:15) is not-Biblical
