Why is there so much RC posting allowed in Semper Reformanda?

Funny thing is, a non catholic member of the forum and I stop in the Catholic section to post (as they do here and there and everywhere) and were given offical warrings. We didn't start a debate, we asked a few questions that weren't well taken and then we were booted.

What is the interest, if it isn't to convert Reformed Christian, for Catholics to post in here? I don't get it.

God forbid we try to make CF "a free, non-profit and non-denominational Christian forum community uniting all Christians as one body."

We have all sorts of Christians in OBOB. So what? Some theology talk, some fellowship. We have some non-Catholic regulars. The rule is that I can't debate doctrine in here, and you can't debate doctrine in OBOB. As long as thats not violated, whats the problem?

Thanks for the icy cold welcome...
welcome ps139

I don't go to the R. C. sites just to criticize there veiws, this is a free country and they have a free will to be wrong. I came to an exclusively reformed site for positive reformed fellowship. I don't see any place for R.C.'s on a reformed discussion board unless they are attempting to leave there church, and searching for the truth.
I would be willing to openly discuss Soteriology with any R.C.'s.
2Ti 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure1 will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

But, this is not a Reformed discussion board. It is the Reformed section of a message board that includes all Christians as well as agnostics, atheists, etc. We do have areas created for like minded fellowship, although the boundaries remain largely ignored for some reason.

Then yall need to rename it, it is deceptive. Call it something like semper ecumenica, with some reformed folks, looking for an outlet for discussion. I personally recommend the puritanboard if anyone wants some good healthy reformed discussion.

It isn't meant to be deceptive. I am sure you lurked around the board a bit. You saw that this is one area of many, right?

Just checked that board out. Looks good. I can't wait to get my confirmation email.

If I ever misrepresent Calvinist theology in OBOB (or anywhere else for that matter), please correct me.
But that is where we are different. You could say whatever you want in OBOB and I would respect your right to do so. I wish we had the same priviledge. But we don't. You and a small number seem to have enough time to fellowship with your brothers and sisters and still manage to police our congregational areas as well.

Ksen, as long as no rules are violated, why do you have a problem with Catholics posting in this forum?
Hey PS139, we've had good interaction in other parts of the forum and I really like you and consider you a friend. The only reason I singled the RC's out is because they are the ones I see in here most. These congregation forums were to be free from debate and defense of our doctrine. I would just like to see that honored.

I'd feel the same way if I saw a bunch of Reformed posting in OBOB. I'd tell them they have no business there because that is your space and it should be respected.

I didn't mean to give you an icy welcome and I apologize if I offended you with this.

Please do not take this the wrong way. :prayer:

I have only been at CF for a little over 3 months.
It was my understanding that the congregational forums were primarly for people of like minds to be able to discuss their beliefs amongst themselves.

Outsiders are welcome in the fellowship thread(s).
And outsiders are allowed to start threads to ask geniune questions NOT to start a debate.

I avoid apologetics because debating is not my cup of tea. It is fine for those that like it.

As a new person to the term "reformed" I am asking questions to better understand it.
I believe that is the foundation I grew up on - we just did not know there was a term to explain ourselves. :D

At this point it appears clear from now on I need to specify that only persons that currently consider themselves "reformed/Calvinist" should answer my questions. That really should NOT be the case in the "reformed" forum IMHO.

I have nothing against people from other denominations.
I have attended many different denominations. And my mother grew up Catholic.
I have visited the Anglican forum to ask questions. The were very nice.
I also fellowship in the Baptist forum because I have attending Baptist churches for the past 15 years.

Ok....what is it then?
Ahhh let's see............it's a Christian Forum room that appeases the reformed people in CF by giving them a room of their own but demanding that they not speak "all" of their reformed Christian beliefs under the guise of "wonderful American tolerance" of not offending others.

Let me tell you, Christ would not and could not survive in this room.

Isn't free will against Calvinist belief?

This is probably a really good example of what not to come into our room and do. If you really want to know what we believe, start a new thread and ask. Better yet, pick up a book. I did so myself....about my faith and yours.

I think some people actually just have nothing better to do than sit around all day in front of a monitor, visit every single room and "correct" people's misrepresentation of thier beliefs and/or start trouble.

Maybe if mentioned people picked up a bible and read instead of spending so much time on this board they'd see what God's word has to say about their habit. I bet it's pretty hard to get out, live the life, fight the fight, evangelize, and serve others when they never leave their computer desk.

I did ask. No one answered. What do you want me to do about it?
