Why is there a correlation between understanding evolution and accepting it as valid science?

You all are correct.
And you think ID is just another way of saying "God did it?" You don't care about "irreducible complexity" or "complex specified information" or anything like that?

I'd say for most things they actually have to make sense to be accepted. For example I understand the idea that rotting straw creates mice. But I of course don't accept it.

There's a whole heck of a lot of things that may not seem to make sense on the surface but actually do. On account of that that's why so many folks believed the earth was flat for so long. Nowadays most folks do understand that it's not flat & therefore accept that just fine.

I'm sorry you haven't been able to put it together.
Dont be.

Not knowing about far out things like the origin of the universe is not such a big deal. On the contrary, its kind of neat that there are mysteries remaining in the world.

Please see my last post to you, it covers your lack comprehension, as well as other skills, and with posts like I replied to there, I'm not too concerned about your accusations, and haven't been for some time. :)

Yeah, it's clear by now that you don't really worry about getting things wrong and happily ignore those who correct you.

If evolution is as false as creationists claim it is, wouldn't understanding it lead to its rejection, not its acceptance?

I find that understanding of creationism does lead to its rejection. :p

I does for some, just as evolution is rejected by some.

The basic idea of evolution is not hard to understand, it's just hard to believe or accept as the truth.

But, then again, science is not about belief or truth, is it?

It's certainly not about what we believe through faith, such as the existence of God and our salvation through the death and resurrection of His son, Jesus Christ. Science has nothing to say about any of that.

And I find that understanding of evolution does lead to its rejection.

Except for the fact the study cited in the OP demonstrates the exact opposite. Care to try again? ^_^

Nobody else does. 'Understanding' it the way your creationist masters order you to, via their spin and "interpretation" of it, is not actually understanding it. If I did not have 2 degrees in relevant science, and was a religious fanatic, and only got my information from Answers in Genesis and David Coppedge, I would reject evolution, too.
But I know that Coppedge is a fool, and that AiG and the DI and the ICR, etc. all fib and embellish and spin the facts to gain converts because I know better.

Sure. And the thing is, for things that don't make any sense on the surface to be accepted as valid anyway.... that takes demonstrable evidence.

That's how people accept a spherical earth as opposed to a flat one. Evidence. Evidence, which in turn lead to understanding.

Nothing changed for the rest. We go out and look at the horizon and it still looks as flat as it always did.
