I don't think you left IIDB because you were running from giving an answer you said you would. No need to share it here, just curious why you didn't live up to your promise there.
Maybe for the same reason a member of senior staff might choose to ramp up tensions in a thread where people have been discussing civilly.

the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.

The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. Jas3:5,6

~~Elsewhere~~ What's That All About?

In an exclusive club, membership is based on similar attitudes and pleasures. When one does not display those values held by other members, they are not going to find validation there.

When one's values are fully known by those long time members to be completely outside the usual drill team, one will not be welcome.

But the club for Liberals, Radicals, Atheists, etc. is a kind of ministry, or at least an outreach of sorts.

Elsewhere is such a club, favored insiders are loyal and stand by those who admire their skills in certain discussion and debate techniques which are finely honed to undermine and devalue those who believe in God and Jesus Christ.

Whatever it takes to disconfirm, to push misinformation, to coerce and to harass are such skills. Posting inanities which seem to be cozy little quips about ice cream, donuts, or, as the present trend, with due regard to most Christians against alcoholism, the delighted offerings of delicious mixed drinks as the distraction mechanism.

Any objections by Christians are belittled and dealt with as trying to be authoratative and restrictive on the enjoyment of a little humor or amusement.

Anyone who does not share the views or even attempts to disagree with the club insiders are dealt with quite proficiently and by masters of the swarm, undermine, and disposal techniques which are practised and honed to a fine art.

Make no mistake, CF has fallen into line with and quite soon will be run by those from IIDB who have been obsessed with that goal for years.

So, yes, I supposed you could say that both CF and IIDB are ministries.

There are not many left on CF Staff that are not longtime, active, outspoken critics of both CF, Christian members, AND of Christianity itself. Their posts have long had strong hostile and aggressive intent very active indeed on the Secular Web's forum Internet Infidels Discussion Board Elsewhere forum.

Been there, survived that.

I'm quite curious.

Do members have to go over to an Atheist's website to work things out, really? Things can be worked out here and I have seen it done NUMEROUS of times. IMO one of the main reasons why people go to IIDB to *work out* problems is that they can't be held as accountable there as they can at CF for the words & actions. That comes down to character IMO.

Since you're the OP of this thread......Have you ever posted/told things that was leaked to you that was confidential from either CF staff forums here or CF private PMs at IIDB?

Have you personally posted things, that you didn't know 100% if they were true or not about staff/staff forums/info more than once?....twice? more?

Have you ever falsely accused staff of things they didn't do? Have you ever vented with vulgarity about things you disagreed with at IIDB?....more than once?...twice?...more?

Have you personally made right with all the people you've talked about or called names at IIDB, members & staff alike?

Have you ALWAYS first tried to work out the problems you had with others *HERE* *FIRST* every time before going to IIDB to *work it out?*

I don't think any CF staff *fears* IIDB. Even though there are a few staff members who post there, the majority probably thinks it's sad, that a small group of christians goes over there to vent in a un-Christ like manner, falsely accuse members/staff of wrong doings, post things they received that was not theirs to divulge, talk like or worse than a sailor (sorry to offend sailors).

What staff member or any person really in their right mind, would want to be attacked, lied about like that at IIDB?

If what is posted there so clean & Godly in ~Elsewhere...why does IIDB feel they have to put it in a *hidden* forum?

Since you're an IIDB staff member....

If it's all ministry/Godly/prayers/christian fellowship........Is IIDB afraid of those things being posted at IIDB? Maybe IIDB doesn't want to have more of the same being posted in the IIDB/CF threads there if everyone could view & post there. For the ones who goes over there to *vent* and not work out problems here, what does that say about their character & personal testimonies as christians really?

Were you just hurt and angry and letting off steam when you slandered me over at IIDB and then when asked to post proof, you said you would and then were never heard from there again?
NYJ.. hate to break it to you but when ever staff had to take action against a member who regularly posted at IIDB, we were slandered..

You keep using that word. I do not think you know what that word means.

Problem is here - staff holds all the cards. Do you like trying to work things out when you are powerless and the person you have a problem with is not?

Things can be worked out here and I have seen it done NUMEROUS of times.
I've seen it done as well - but, some people are unwilling to work out problems and see themselves as being above reproach because they are staff. One former member of staff you resigned with comes to mind.
IMO one of the main reasons why people go to IIDB to *work out* problems is that they can't be held as accountable there as they can at CF for the words & actions. That comes down to character IMO.
I would say that character is being able to see things from someone else's point of view - being willing and able to put yourself in the other persons shoes and walk a mile. Character to me is also the willingness to meet the weaker party on their terms. :)

Please sister - pray that some day I can be so very worthy.:crossrc:

I keep using "the word"?
What are you talking about?

I find that lawyers have a tendency to restrict meanings of a word to only the legal context.
I may be wrong, but I am inclined to believe your use of the word "slandered" triggered a legalism response.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the case.

Things can be worked out here and I have seen it done NUMEROUS of times.

Yup. But you have not made the case that the CF open forums are the exclusive remedy or even one that is always efficacious.

IMO one of the main reasons why people go to IIDB to *work out* problems is that they can't be held as accountable there as they can at CF for the words & actions. That comes down to character IMO.

They are accountable to the rules of that forum, not to the rules of CF. The judgment you make in your final sentence is not supported by your grounds and you have failed to provide a warrant for your claim.

Since you're the OP of this thread......Have you ever posted/told things that was leaked to you that was confidential from either CF staff forums here or CF private PMs at IIDB?

Lovely ad hominems. Too bad they are merely insults and not arguments.

Your offense about vulgarity is duly noted.

As to your claim regarding false claims, false statements have been made. Often they are corrected.

As to your claim regarding secrecy, you know my opinions on that well.

What staff member or any person really in their right mind, would want to be attacked, lied about like that at IIDB?

Implicit claim: CF Staff members who post there are not in their right mind. Logical deduction from that claim: nyj, herev, A New Dawn, stumpjumper, and many others are not in their right mind.

What was that about slander earlier?

If what is posted there so clean & Godly in ~Elsewhere...why does IIDB feel they have to put it in a *hidden* forum?

Because it is policy there that all discussions of events at other message boards are routed to ~Elsehwere~. Sorry, CF is nothing special.

Since you're an IIDB staff member....
If it's all ministry/Godly/prayers/christian fellowship........Is IIDB afraid of those things being posted at IIDB? Move to admit Exhibit 1.

Hmm... Thanks for the response, but I guess I'll have to wait until CaDan responds..
I've only used the word once and it was in response to nyj..

Never once mentioned that you slandered Murron.. Dont even know what your talking about.

And Yes, I can speak from experience.. There was many times, when I went over there and saw what was said about me.

You made the general statement that x happens whenever staff took/take action against posters on that thread, I am pointing out that is not the case. For myself and I know of others also.
