Persevering through hard times didn't work for me when I supposedly had god on my side.. I actually failed one of my classes in college.. I was also lonely and anti-social.. not things that are good for anybody! I can honestly tell you that the day I became atheist, I was more open-minded, understood things better, and didn't put myself down for "sinning"

You said he always reveals himself to us in a personal way that each one of us can tell that it is god and not hallucination or make-belief.. That is my whole point.. I wasn't presented with something that I can be sure was god.. It was just one of those special emotional moments.. say when a family member dies... or you watch a success story of a handicapped person achieving something.. those emotions WERE created THE SAME WAY for me when I supposedly became a christian!

If I presented evidence to my dad that I got a well-paying job in such a way he can be dang sure I did, and then present almost no evidence to my mom about the same subject, what does that reflect of my character? I am biased, have a sinister motive, etc. right?

It is like on one hand, god is saying all you have to do is repent, humble yourself, and accept jesus as your savior.. then the holy spirit will guide you through tough times and make you understand things better.. on the other hand it is also suggesting that you have to work your butt off in interpreting the various interpretations people have of almost all the verses in the bible.. god himself said that god's foolishness is better than man's word.. yet, he didn't help me or change me when I became christian!

Of course people can not believe my testimony and accuse me of lying.. to those people who thing that way.. BUG OFF!

I don't mean to come across as cold-hearted, but the stuff you mention in the website happen to people all the time.. non-christians too... as for god speaking to you.. good for you if it's actually true.. my problem is that god doesn't do that to me.. at least i can't tell if it's god or just me making up stuff and building emotions around it.. if god is so powerful and cares about us, why does he do this to me?

I DID PRAY THE EXACT WAY THE BIBLE TOLD ME TO! What I am saying is god didn't do a good job of convincing me in a way that i can tell that is in fact the holy spirit and not part of my emotional cycle!

I NEVER tested god by saying if I don't get this grade then he doesn't exist.. nor did I demand anything!

How is it exactly that you are "Seeking God," if God is required to convince you? You do know "Seeking God" is one of the three requirements. The requirements that you claim to have done.

Say your friend is missing.. you seek him/try to find him.. you should expect evidence(Like you being able to see and sense him) if you found him.. right? How is this different from seeking god? It is not when you find Him you will have your evidence/ability to sense Him.

You are correct in that you did not ask God for money, but you demanded that he help you pass a test, to make his presents known to you in a way not provided for by scripture, and you required that he convince you all with in this Thread, or you will not '"believe."

Everything you have said (Except when you are directly asked) points that you have not, sought God on His terms. You made you own effort and labeled "the same" as the bible. When In fact I have pointed out several times the differences between what you have done and what the bible asks us to do.

If you are going to believe anything without knowing if that thing exists, then continue believing.. I have better things to do!

No one is MAKING you respond, you may walk away when ever you are truly ready. Know that when you are ready to return, God will be waiting for you.

What do you look for in a wife? Do you think this was the same for me? Why? Because it is a personal relationship we wish to develop with our own wives. Likewise When we have this type of relationship with God our requirements for "evidence" will look different from person to person. In short we will have what we need to know God is there. (Not what we want as evidence, what we need.)

This is why it is so important to Ask Seek and knock for God on His terms. Because if you do not you will over look the "evidence" he is offering for what you are insisting for.

When you become a Christian not all people get to hear God straight away. I mean he did speak to me when I was first born again. But I did not percieve it, it was just looking back I could see some examples of him speaking. It actually took me many years of praying and fasting and seeking to know God, before he actually began to reveal himself more clearly. During those times before I never really doubed God's existance, but nothing much of a spiritual nature occured. The bible says we need to seek after spiritual gifts, they are not just all given straight away, God can't use us while we have sin and faults in the way, he needs to refine us, make us ready. Some people he can use immediately, but as for me I was not really ready for God, I had spent most of my life in unbelief and it is not easy to suddenly start believing, even though I was a Christian I still had the same mind, same emotions etc. We just need to be renewed in our mind, to put off the old, and put on the new.

I did seek God on his terms BEFORE I did on my terms when I conducted my own experiment with that exam I have been mentioning! Of course when god fails to provide ANYTHING AT ALL to indicate that I have become christian, you shouldn't be surprised that I did my own experiment.. if all I should be doing is believe with faith until who knows when, why should I become christian? Why not a hindu? Or a satanist? Why should it matter what the religion teaches if all that god demands is having faith? I did seek God on his terms BEFORE I did on my terms when I conducted my own experiment with that exam I have been mentioning!

No You Did Not!!! The fact that you are abole to take Great Pride in Capping the word "BEFORE" proves that you did not. Why? Because In God's instructions (that I have pointed to in Luke 11 several times now) We are to Knock persistently like the "Persistent Neighbor" did. This means there is no time limit or time constraints that YOU can put on this effort. God will tell you when to stop knocking when you get what your Heart truly Seeks. (Your personal evidence/Holy Spirit)

So again if you started this process and stopped it before you got a Measure of the Holy Spirit then know that you did not do things "God's way." 2 out of 3 is not good enough here.

I don't think that was an issue here. Unless you got your "proof" you only labeled your self a christian, you did not become one.

You could not find "God" in the half hearted effort you put into the bible instructions, so you devised your own set of tests and are demanding God jump through your hoops... Again this is not Lazy. Have you tried searching the scriptures and asking God to reveal himself to you through his word? Ask God for the gift of faith that you might understand.

Well I can only tell you that your motivation is most noble. Please continue to find out what Jesus stands for and what you can do for Him. There's a lot of people who want to rob Him of His throne. You can work for Him or against Him, though if working against Him you will not have God on your side and God has declared that Jesus has all authority in heaven and earth. I think you need to examine whether you prefer to defend or attack Jesus.

I have absolutely no problem with the character of jesus! His teachings, as far as I've seen, are based on good moral values! I have nothing against that! However, I have no reason to believe that there is a god or that he has manifested himself through jesus!

If a god is willing to send me to hell, then I will not hesitate to bring that god with me to hell!

You're lying to yourself, because you do have a problem with Jesus. He said he is God, that is a defining aspect of his character. And you don't agree with that. Also, your last statement doesn't really make sense. God doesn't want you to go to Hell, but if you don't want to be with God then that's the only place for you to go. That's the only God-free place. So you can't possibly bring him with you, because the very definition of Hell is a place absent of God.
