Fine -- I'll use another example:

Is Israel the Promised Land?

(Expos4ever, are you getting this?)

Promised by who? I dont believe in god(s) so I certainly reject the idea that god(s) promised anything.

Israel as it stands is a political construct in the middle east.

Are we born with a sin nature that resides in our flesh?

Sin is a metaphysical idea that I reject.
Ya -- you reject just about everything, don't you?

Nihilism: the philosophical viewpoint that suggests the denial or lack of belief towards the reputedly meaningful aspects of life. Most commonly, nihilism is presented in the form of existential nihilism, which argues that life is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value.

My life is very meaningful to me (and my family) thank you very much.

Objective/subjetive pre-supposes an objective agent (i.e. god(s)) so that is meaningless terms for me and something I reject.

I confess that I don’t follow your reasoning, as per usual.

As a nihilist, do you get depressed if you find something in life that is meaningful? or are you able to ignore it as just a figment of your (or someone's) imagination?

That's alright.

Just look at it this way:

I believe science is now a philosophy of an antiChristian way of thinking and viewing things.

... and let me wallow in my own mire. ;)

What on earth are you writing about?

I just wrote that my life is meaningful for me. In fact, I live a very happy and comfortable life with very few wants.

QV please:
Nihilism is the belief that all values are baseless and that nothing can be known or communicated. It is often associated with extreme pessimism and a radical skepticism that condemns existence. A true nihilist would believe in nothing, have no loyalties, and no purpose other than, perhaps, an impulse to destroy.

Im not that kind of nihilist, Im a value-nihilist.
Not familiar with the term.

It seems to be a contradiction.

Would Friedrich Nietzsche agree with you?

He is dead and therefore not capable of agreeing with anyone.

Read Axel Hägerström and perhaps Immanuel Kant as value-nihilism in many ways are an answer (and an continuation) to Kants ideas.

Knowledge is dangerous?

Celsus, a 2nd century pagan apologist in speaking of Christianity wrote "For why is it an evil to have been educated, and to have studied the best opinions, and to have both the reality and appearance of wisdom? What hindrance does this offer to the knowledge of God? Why should it not rather be an assistance, and a means by which one might be better able to arrive at the truth?"

Sounds like he's advocating:

1. Bible says X, science says X = go with X
2. Bible says X, science says Y = go with X
3. Bible says Ø, science says Y = go with Y
4. Bible says Ø, science says Ø = speculate

On the other hand, it depends on what he considers truth.

Is is X or Y or both?

If the two contradicted each other, which one do you suppose he went with?

I'm going to guess and say Y.
