Why is Evolution feared by many Christians?

I don't believe that most people have a clue what "SOUND" science actually is. What is important is what GOD reveals to Christian's in HIS Word and that is parmount to anything man may think he understands. The problem is that the Bible has been systematicly excluded from most if not all areas of public educational research.

You keep thinking that… the day Creationism contributes to advances in the fields of medicine, or any scientific field for that matter, give me a call.

I believe Creationism already has. The average Joe seems a lot more interested in considering and investigating scientific theory than he was a mere 50 years ago. Many people will not simply allow the "intellectuals" to spoon feed them anymore...

Creationism didn't inspire scientific investigation. People today who subscribe to Creationism are some of the … most… unlearned people I've ever met. People I know, who accept Creationism, say things like "If we came from apes, why are there still apes?", "If a whale became a cow (which it didn;t), how did the transitionary species survive?" and "You're just stupid if you actually think we came from monkeys."

With Creationism, thinking for yourself involves stopping the thought process.

So far with all your posts your assertions that intellectuals are spoonfeeeding people and the Bible says so are the only reasons you have come up with that

1. Evolution is not science and does not belong in science classrooms.

2. Evolution is an imagined theory(kinda similar to 1)

here is an imagined dialogue between Average Joe and a scientist

Joe: Evolution is not science neither!!

Scientist: Oh really what evidence do you have that falsifies evolution?

Joe: Everybody knows that ya'll made it up. My Bible says that God made the Earth in six 24 hour days. My God wouldn't create through billions of years of death.

Scientist: Oh really? God tell you that?

Joe: Umm no.

I don't THINK the BIBLE has been excluded from most areas of Public education---I KNOW IT. I attended public school from 1959 to 1972. I was there. I saw the subtle changes that began quickly advancing towards the impetuous.

The reason it happened was simple. It was the very same reason Herod wanted to destroy the infant Jesus and massacred all the male babies 2 and under in Bethlehem. It is the very same reason Hitler strove to wipe out the Jews. It is founded in the belief that what GOD says and does can be changed or hidden. The fact is that GOD's will can never be changed. The Messiah could not be killed until HE wanted to die at HIS appointed time. The Jews cannot be destroyed because GOD made that promise to them. Ezekiel, Daniel & Revelations will be fulfilled and attempting to hide the facts of Bible prophecy by demeaning or withholding Bible historical evidence will not stop the will of GOD.

Dr gerald schroeder is a PHd from MIT. Did you know that all the gambling casinos keep a photo of all the MIT graduates on file on their computers. If they start to win to much money at the tables they will escort them out of the casino. You will never convince them that the mathmatics of probability has no validity, becasue it hits them in their wallet. In general the odds are 5% in favor of the casino, but someone that knows probability can turn the odds in their favor by 1%.

Proteins are coils of several hundred amino acids. Take a typical protein to be a chain of 300 amino acids. There are 20 commonly occurring amino acids in life. This means that the number of possible combinations of the amino acids in our model protein is 20 to the power of 300 (that is 20 multiplied by itself 300 times) or in the more usual ten-based system of numbers, 10 to the power of 390 ( Ten multipled by itself 390 times or more simply said a one with 390 zeroes after it!!!!!) . Nature has the option of choosing among the possible 10 to the power of 390 proteins, the the 1.5 x (10 to power of 12) proteins of which all viable life is composed. Can this have happened by random mutations of the genome? Not if our understanding of statistics is correct. It would be as if nature reached into a grab bag containing a billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion proteins and pulled out the one that worked and then repeated this trick a million million times. http://www.geraldschroeder.com/evolution.html

Ok, the will of God is unstoppable, I don't see how this answers the question.

Bad choice of words, He did not want to die. His prayer at the time was: "Not My will but Thine be done".

Luke 22:42
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, [2] looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Jesus gave up his life. No one took it from him. Christ could have called for angels to come to his assistance, but HE did what HE needed to do so that man might be saved.

Secular society is under the direct control of the Prince of this world. That Prince is Lucifer. His desire is that the sacred will be bent to his will. The AntiChrist will come into his domain once the CHURCH is caught away. Right now Lucifer is doing his best to silence, currupt, distort, and usurp GOD's influence. One way to do that is by expelling GOD's Word from the masses...

I'm sure if God minded that he would do something. Also, School Boards, Congress, and the Supreme Court are expelling 'God's word' from the masses, not Lucifer.

There's a difference between the MIT grads and this PH.D. dude. One is correctly applying probability, the other isn't. I'm not a chemist, and I've never taken O Chem, but it seems his argument is similar to taking a bag of letters, putting your hand in and pulling out a work of Shakespear. The problem is certain amino acids (I think) are more likely to bond to other ones.

Anyway, I can incorrectly apply probability, too (proof is my last test score). John, did you know you're a miracle? The odds of you (as a sperm cell) hitting your mom's egg cell is astronomical. However, for this event to even occur, your grandfathers and grandmothers eggs and sperms cells would also have to be the exact match. Take this back a few generations, and you get a number larger than that PhD's number.

Five hundred years ago, Christian dogma stated that the earth was flat. Since most of us have never been in space, are we to believe science that the earth is a sphere? Planets rotating around the sun is theory, not fact as described in the Bible!

This is a total lie. Columbus was of a Christian background and education. He believed that the world being "flat" was pagan superstition. Educated Christians did not believe that people could fall off the earth no more than Atlas held the earth on his shoulders or the sun rode in the back of a golden chariot. It is Bible study, for the masses that finally brought western society out of the Dark Ages, and it is a lack of Bible study that will move us back into the darkness of oppression and superstition. Evolutionist theory reduces sin to natural acts of animal instincts and enlightenment the upward power of natural selective breeding. In other words---man first creates gods and then finally man becomes a god as the product of human evolution.

Satan will use the uninformed for his own purposes. I feel that GOD is simply allowing the natural course of sin to divide the wheat from the tares.

are you joking? reality is basically the exact opposite of what you just said. the dark ages was when the church had authority over all, including science. this lead to almost complete stagnation of scientific thought. it was moving away from this that brought about the renaissance. if anything is going to bring about a new dark ages, it will be moving towards a theocracy, like the US seems to be doing right now.

This is all true. It demeans us as Christians, and as people, to try and deny the corruption that the Church as a human institution of power rather than as an entity for the worship of God dispalyed during the dark ages.
