They seem to mostly focus on Jesus and the New Testament more than anything else.

I think it is more like, they follow certain teachings of the bible, the one's they consider to be positive and they ignore everything else.
For one to follow "ALL" teachings of the bible, would require them to have multiple personalities.
I'm not a Christian atheist really, no, but I'd say it would be someone who views the whole bible as pure allegory, showing the growth of humanity from violent societies to greater acceptance of others, and driving people to spread such peace. Jesus in particular seems to be a character central to Christian atheists in terms of gaining wisdom from the bible.
I do however have some more conservative personal practices, such as I plan never to partake of alcohol, plan to remain abstinent until marriage. But to be frank this is just my personal choice, the bible didn't inspire it.

What? -_- if you worship satan, that would be considered the worship of a deity, wouldn't it? Wouldn't the belief in satan render the atheist label non applicable? Unless you worship it without believing it exists.
A Christian atheist is a person who follows the teachings of the bible, but doesn't believe god actually exists nor do they believe the miracles to be real.
You do know that the vast majority of Satanists do not worship Satan right? Satanism is an atheistic religion/philosophy. There is no worship, no metaphysics, no "spirituality", no gods, no demons and no supernatural.
Satanists who worship Satan is actually a rarity and I have only known 2 people who do this. Satanism is much like BUddhism in that it is a non-theistic religion.

But the prerequisite to be an actual Christian is belief in god. Buddhist, Daoist, and Satanists do not have this so you can be an atheist and still subscribe to these religions. You do not need a Jesus to teach a person morals. The only teachings Jesus taught where things we have innately.
The issue is that a couple billion religious minds cannot have their way. People desire to have a world that submits to themselves and their world view. This is all that religion does. When people find out that they are not special and rather worthless when compared to the cosmos they will not be able to handle it.
I never endorsed nihilism. Religious individuals believe that the cosmos is specially designed for them. I am not negating purpose in one's life I an negating anthropocentrism.

Everyone has been clamoring against Just's claim that the theory of evolution (Darwinism) makes statements about the worth or purpose of humans, or the existence or non-existence of gods or any particular god.
It is pretty clear, this personal interpretation, is very very important to protecting his own beliefs, regardless of whether he is simply claiming the theory says things it obviously does not say. This is not unusual behavior from a self professed; fundamentalist. These beliefs, must be protected at all costs.
Excellent observation. The only thing I would add would be the term "confirmation bias".
Why would I know it? Satanism isn't exactly easy to find clear information on. I know a little bit of the history of how the Church of Satanism was founded (the modern one). Plus, I don't personally know any satanists, so I have little to reference from.
But yes, it so encourages people to fix their misunderstandings when you make fun of their ignorance, one could hardly expect me to know everything about every religion.
