I guess it's just as hard for you to understand the non-Catbolic view of it as it is for some of us to understand yours. I don't look on eternity the same as we look at things here on earth. Yes, I think criminals should be put in jail and I get what you're saying about being forgiven for breaking a window but still having to pay for a new window. I believe Jesus death for me takes care of all of that. He atoned for or paid for all my sins. He took all the punishment due me, made the whole payment, reparation, atoned for...whatever word you want to use. He paid for the broken window, so to speak. So there's no reason for me to pay for it, He's already done what's necessary for me to be forgiven for it and He's paid for it. These links may help you understand the non-Catholic view of it:
