  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What about God's free will, is that excluded too?

We would think that man being created in the image and likeness of God refers to the attributes of God that man is capable of obtaining, including free will.

Is it possible for man to obtain omniscience and omnipotence? Who knows?

"Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is." - 1 John 3:2.

I often wonder what it will be to be like God as He is. Could omniscience and omnipotence be included?

If deduction and induction (aka logic) are not the ways God wants us to know things, why didn't he write every fact in the Bible so we could mindlessly recite them? Logic allows us to extend our knowledge from our premises. I find it hilarious that you think this is unnecessary.

I doubt you have completed a college education because you act so rude and naive on these boards, so maybe someday you'll be an atheist. Who knows? I miss the days when you used to try to reconcile evolution and creation, even if it was with wild theories about hominids. Now you've turned into a mini AV1611VET. What a shame.

It's the harsh implications of our current understanding of neuroscience. It may so happen to be that we merely have the illusion of free will. At least we have the illusion, though, right? Even the people we are attracted to have underlying physical reasons - we are often attracted to members of the opposite sex with different immune system genes, which would allow children to have broad immunity. It's stuff you wouldn't notice so it doesn't really matter in our interactions with each other.
