But the bible crosses into history in a lot of ways. In fact if you look at what the bible says archeologists can then go and find the towns, cities, people and many of the artifacts of that period. Some archeologists use the bible as a reference to finding locations for their digs. In fact in some ways the bible is one of the main written history records for those periods and we have little else to go by.History teachers teach history, not theology.
Now, there are religious history classes, for this sort of thing, if it is something that appeals to someone.
Beyond that, has anyone prevented you or anyone else from reading Genesis? Has your church prevented you from learning about Genesis?
