Why don't protestants bless Mary?

Rev is polyvalent

Doodles has a double meaning in Australia that makes this pretty funny

"Assume" typically means to "suppose"

But in Mary's case (In what? Latin?) the word of her "assumption" is somewhat funny (and sort of fitting at the same time)

Then there is the clever Urban dictionary's definition of the word "assume" which definition always reminded me of Walter Matthau in the Bad news bears movie.

Just as God works through pen and ink (2 John: 12), so he works though oral teaching (3 John: 13), and through art in honor of the Mother of God.

I have no problem with lips speaking words or pens writing words and dont know what that has to do with chicken scratch honoring the flesh

Why do some believe in Tradition as far as the N.T. Canon, but not as far as devotion to the Mother of God?

That was really the question. I have been here for ten years been down the same road before and have heard all the reasons why Mary should be worshipped and I have never, and will never get it.

I gotta go make dinner

I heard you say that Rev 12 doesn't fit with Mary. I asked, "how so?". I'm not hearing an answer.

As far as Mary being "worshipped"... who here is arguing that we should worship the Mother of God, a creature?

I believe that Jesus, whom Mary conceived, is God. Do you believe He is God?

I havent a clue to what you are talking about, God the Father doesnt have a mother, the Son of God does.

I dont deny the Son of God (without Whom) one does not have the Father, I try to honour both Jesus Christ and the Father and leave worshipping and honouring the creature more to you guys,

Jesus is the Word God with us, nice try, There is one God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ by whom he made the worlds, I acknowledge him as the Son of God, God the Father says, Thy throne O God is for ever, I acknowledge him as Lord and Christ for as such God the Father has made him.

I'm not hearing anyone except you talk about worshiping a creature, the Mother of the Son of God.

Do you believe that Jesus Christ is God?

Is there a limitation on how much God can exalt a creature such as Mary?

10 years?
And you still think Catholics worship Mary ?
It's probably safe to say you won't ever change your mind.
Sad to hear, it's love for a mother not worship.

It's been explained before to you. You (perhaps all of RC) believe Mary gave birth without pain. Rev. 12 is a picture of a woman in pain giving birth.

You can try to allegorize it as symbolic nonsense, but it says what it says. Rev. 12:2 cannot be the Mary of your dogma (no pain in delivery.

Rev. 12:2
And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

I was Catholic, Catholics are on both sides of my family (My aunt Barbara was a nun, as I have shared this before) I am married into my husbands family who are all Catholics. I have just been here 10 years, but have grown up in it, with it and married into it, and at almost 50 years old and in Christ Jesus the Lord over 25 years, its far safer to say (from that perspective) I will not change my mind.

Besides, being here ten years means nothing (overall) in the sense of logically coming to a change of mind because this place even has folks on your end of things making matters worse. I have heard things I never heard from my own family to try and make Mary fit the center of all the scripture.

How does one love a Mary? It can be no more than as one who sings a beautiful love song to her, or as one who makes cement figures (to be painted) to burn incense to a figure of a woman crafted by graven art and mans device, and to chant her repetively, which (to me) is to love to honour the creature above the creator.

I was Catholic having grown up with a large family of them (in every which way) and I believe its far more sad how she has been made out to be by them.

No matter how you cut it there is not even a hint of this sort of thing in the apostles of Jesus Christ.

Exactly, its Mary is that woman in Revelation but as you know (even as I have been on posts with them with you) the whole no pain ordeal, so which is it? Scripture or the Big T tradition again?

(Yadda yadda, yadda) there is likely something written in there to catch that oopsy too.

Then the "Immaculate foot" on the serpent, via the garden when the God of peace would bruise Satan under YOUR feet (shortly) not Mary's years earlier. It is like kicking the same dead horse over and over again though, I hate myself for returning to it when I do.

Gotta stop it.
