The fundamental difference is that an advancement in, say, computer technology can be made use of in building airplanes. Life follows a strict nested hierarchy, and as such you don't get an adaptation in one species being copied to another (at least, not for large, multicellular organisms such as ourselves). A designer would have no problem violating such a nested hierarchy, and could, for example, place bird's wings on a bat, or give ostriches arms. But evolution can't do this.

Remember, it's not that life changes that makes it look evolved. It's how life changes, and has changed. That there is no violation of this nested hierarchy makes it look very much like life evolved.

If a Vacuum Cleaner could reproduce itself And improve on it's own design, then it would "evolve."

But, as such, Vacuum Cleaners, Cars, TVs, or Airplanes have no Mechanism in which to do so. Their "Evolution" depends on us to built copies of them.

We, on the otherhand, do not depend on any "Designer" to copy and improve on our design. We can do it ourselves.

But, on a side note, Even If we ever do design a Vacuum Cleaner to be able to reproduce itself And improve on it's own design, it would not change the fact that the Original Device was human built but it would force us to re-evalute our understanding of Creation.

Except that you aren't: you are equivocating to get your point across. You say that the things you designed* evolved into their present form. That may be true, for given definitions of 'evolved', but suffice to say this is not what anyone means when there refer to biological evolution (namely, the change in the frequency of inheretable traits over time in a population).
