Why does everyone think Evolution contradicts Creationism?

Then what?

Annihilation?

And
what exactly do you mean by "positive impact on others"?

Helping little old ladys across the street?

Fighting for the rights of the unborn?

Both?

Neither?

I only deal with what i know i have, this life and i make the best of it.

And, i get to form my own meaning and purpose, which is a beautiful thing.

I'm not sure why you imposed that on an answer to a question about eternal life then; but it's none of my business anyway.

Then Klebold & Harris had a beautiful thing too, didn't they?

Which one wore the shirt that said NATURAL SELECTION?

Why would you compare how I form my purpose and meaning in life, to someone else?

I was pointing out that if everyone thought like that ... well ... let's just say history would repeat itself more often.

Thus I was making the point that "good" is a relative term down here.

All depends on the person.

I agree.

But what does that have to do with the topic of this thread?
Nothing.

But I was told to "say something that warrants a considered response," and I did.

Bhsmte is backing that up with "considered reponses."

Don't you agree?

So it's just another thread that's drifted hopelessly off-topic then
After 550 posts, do you really expect a thread to be on-topic?

(Aren't you guys supposed to be experts on reality?)

Only counting threads (and the like) do that!

Does it bother you that I took advantage of someone's question to witness for Jesus Christ?

Eternal life.

Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
Romans 8:25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

1 Corinthians 15:29-34 "if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour? I face death every day—yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord. If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus with no more than human hopes, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame."

Blessings

This is obscurantism. You haven't allowed yourself to think critically about this confronting question of you in heaven and me in hell, and what you can know. Have you read 1984, George Orwell? Big Brother engineered memory erasure. The thought police. Literature and scholarship and real science is all irrelevant to you. How impoverished. Orwell matters. He was an atheist, actually. In hell now, and Jimmy Hendrix and so many incredible talents who have enriched our culture. All writhing in Hell. 'Fogedaboudit!' say the Mafioso.

And why haven't you allowed yourself to think critically about this confronting question of you in Heaven and me in Hell?

Intellectual laziness. Or you don't dare. Too much cognitive dissonance. You could even have friends, sort of, with whom you have shared a laugh, but not a beer, and you have to think that this cool person is going to Hell for eternity because they put up resistance to your evangelism. Have you inquired into how they think on various questions? Why would you even want to? Of what interest is that to you, or relevance is their considerations and reflections, unless as a way to clue you up on how to proselytize them more successfully? Because the Bible provides a scripture on absolutely every position.

I'm just not into being told what my opinion is on everything.

Is that how you view Heaven in the future, Phenotype?

People standing around laughing and saying, "I warned him!" and "I told him so!"?

If so, you have a warped sense of the future.

Yes ... we are going to be present at the Great White Throne Judgment, where the lost will stand before God and have to account for their sins without the precious blood of Christ to atone for them.

And it's not going to be a pretty site.

What bothers me is that I got an implication that you and some others were trying to say that believing in Jesus Christ and evolution/deep time were somehow opposed.

Has religion, with evidence please:)

Science does not address evil, or eternal life, it is the study of the natural world. And all evidence points to evolution, an old earth, a round earth (There are flat earthers out here:)) There is no working scientific theory of creation, and even if there was it would be seen as merely one more of God's mechanisms by many.

LOL, not laughing at you but at the fact that the Hypothesis of the Primordial Atom, or Big Bang theory came from where ?

Try Genesis 1:1. Heaven being 'expanse of space' and earth being 'particles of matter' or matter having mass. Add 'energy' and 'time' and boom the universe is instantly created to form all the known and observed universe.

As far as evolution, until you bow down and confess the man called Jesus was God you are a beast according to some interpretation of the NT, i.e. RCC

I don't mind you lying to me, just hope you aren't lying to yourself.

A year later, {Catholic Priest} Father Lemaître explored the logical consequences of an expanding universe and boldly proposed that it must have originated at a finite point in time. If the universe is expanding, he reasoned, it was smaller in the past, and extrapolation back in time should lead to an epoch when all the matter in the universe was packed together in an extremely dense state. Appealing to the new quantum theory of matter, Lemaître argued that the physical universe was initially a single particle—the “primeval atom” as he called it—which disintegrated in an explosion, giving rise to space and time and the expansion of the universe that continues to this day. This idea marked the birth of what we now know as Big Bang cosmology.

I was thinking more origins of life, than big bang, I should have phrased it better. And as for the big bang, I do not know what kicked it off, a god has not been ruled out, but science has a better track record in filling the gaps.
