please note in my post #117, I wrote: I know you "do not" [ hate the Blessed Mother Mary ]
OK. We're dismantling the claim of everybody hating Mary, one by one.
So who DOES hate Mary--anyone who does not take care to refer to her as "Blessed Mother Mary" (which, by the way, is a rather unusual term to be using, even among Catholics)?
It's normally "Blessed Virgin Mary," sooooooo? Well, I just have to wonder.
While Evangelicals and other Protestants may not say outright they hate the Blessed Mother the way they apporach the topic shows how deep their contempt goes for her, actions speak louder than words. While you all may give lip service that you don't hate our Blessed Mother Mary the way you post speaks louder than the words you postI've been at CF for 10 years.... and ONE of the things that has always frustrated me about this unique site is the "double standard" that is not only perpetuated but defended: Catholics post about how we all HATE Mary - and that's just wonderful, defended, kind, just, right, fair - to say people HATE her.... no need to defend it as true, because Catholics "FEEL" that and so it's good to say it, no matter how offensive, hurtful, flaming that may be. But if some Protestant were to post that all Catholics HATE Mary or Jesus or..... my, my, my. This "Catholics exempt" policy has been in place for years, this double standard is well entrenched.
I LOVE Mary with all my heart. MANY, MANY Protestants do. Insisting that we all specifically all HATE her is not only an outright lie (which no Catholic seems to care about - at least to state) but is intensely hurtful (which no Catholic seems to care about - at least to state). Catholics too often SCREAM about their hurt feelings, about "hurtful" and offensive things said to them..... but it seems to be all one-way. "Do unto me the opposite of what I do to others" appears to be the rubric. And has been for most of the past 10 years here at CF. And Staff has defended that.
Oh, well.....
Sorry....

Why is it that non-Catholics on this forum disregard Holy Scripture and refuse to address Christ's mother as " Blessed Mary "?
No I am saying the way some Protestants talk about her and the lack of respect shows their hatred. Phrases such as "mere vessel", "earthly mother", etc show the contempt and hatredAre you saying just because Protestants don't say the Hail Mary or pray to her we hate her because of that?

She has always been either "Blessed Virgin Mary" or St. Mary to me. Our Lutheran Confessions refer to her the same way and call her "ever virgin".
Don't misunderstand I don't mean all Protestants just some. Mainly those that are not Liturgical or those that are low ChurchBy the way, our confessions also call her "Mother of God" and "Mother of our Lord".

Well, nowhere.Where... Where in scripture do we have commandment to pray or do homage to the Holy Mother Mary
Understood, but that's been attested to by almost every Protestant posting on this subject, and the result is only to read the same claims made again...except with even more intentionally insulting language!I do not despise those who honor the Mother Mary, or, as scripture says, to call her blessed. As matter of fact I will do it... The Mother Mary is a blessed and highly exalted woman! Amen...

It seems that some posters are doing their level best to fan flames from the ashes of a totally non-existant fire.

Perhaps. Though to call any mother the equivalent of a "vessel" would, at least in some circles, be considered misogynistic ... and that is an area that would at least skid toward the idea of 'hatred'.
And that matter could be explored here ...
