""Why I started Dance Praise...
There is something inside of a dancer that God wants to pull out and use for His Glory. There is no better time than this to seek out those things, uncover and share them with other dancers. So many young Christian dancers want to make a groove in ministry for themselves with dance but many church leaders either don't understand it or don't know what to do with it.
I believe there's a deep desire to do something more than a cute talent show type routine or be an angel in the christmas banquet at church. As I mentioned to Karla (Special K), if you have a singing ministry there are a whole aray of people around you to learn from, but a dancing ministry, you don't have those same numbers.
During praise and worship at churches there are annointed ministers in instrument and song who lead the congregation into connecting with the spirit of God. This is their ministry, they are a part of a team that ushers in the presence of the Lord. They have recognized a great desire inside of them that wants to lead people into the presence of God - throw in the fact they have a talent in the profession of music and voila you got yourself what we know now as a praise and worship team. If you have the desire to do more than the sway and frequent arm wave during praise and worship it's probably because your spirit man is not content with your current level of expression and this is where it all begins. There's no denying this feeling anymore!
Simply put, dance is an integral part of praise and worship and I pray everyone finds themselves experiencing moments of complete release even if it is only in your bedroom while blasting some of your fav worship music, haha. This entire concept is new to so many people so use it wisely, just like a singer on the praise team would not take to their own agenda during a song and sing something else to disrupt the spirit of unity, neither should a dancer. Pray about it, uncover your desire and I'm sure God will meet that with destiny.
It was great talking to you all.

i love to dance because.. well it calms me down and so much fun! i love to just move the way i want to and it makes me feel free
There are many Psalms that praise dancing, as long as you're dancing to praise God. You might want to point this out to them.According to my parents and their church, dancing is a direct result of sinful human nature. Dancing is just an ugly sin. Anyone who dances are doing so because they have given into their flesh.
So I suppose, I dance because I'm rebellious.
I know a little boy about 5 years old who turned the TV on in his house and started dancing to the music playing on a commercial. His father grabbed him by the arm and sternly told him to stop then gave him a spanking.
Why do you dance? I've always thought this was an interesting question and one that makes you stop and think. I've always loved to dance for as long as I can remember( and that's pretty long. lol) Have you ever watched a child dance? As soon as they hear music they begin to dance about with such a free spirit of joy & happiness. Oh, what a blessing to see.
When I dance it fills me with joy. It touches my soul like nothing else.
Does anyone else feel this way?
God bless!
