If AV wants to choose a Christian doctor that's his choice. I don't choose my doctor on basis of religion. I choose because of his resume and how much experience hes had. The specialist who is performing my endoscopy and possibly taking my gallbladder out isnt Christian but hes got excellent bedside manner and is to the point.
I worship the same God as AV, except his beliefs are different from mine. I do believe in evolution for the most part. However where AV and I differ in our faith of God is that he will not read any other bible. That's not a problem for me. It becomes a problem if he starts saying my word doesn't mean anything because of it but somehow I don't think hes that harsh.
The religious and spiritual beliefs of my doctors have never been relevant to me and my parents, but I respect why it is for some depending on their circumstances. I have a very rare disease and just feel very appreciative to have an excellent specialist in it who has also made the effort to develop a rapport with us. I believe she's Muslim, though I've never actually asked to confirm. I live in LA so it's a very multicultural city.
I will say that it was very meaningful to my great-grandmother that her surgeon prayed with her before a surgery he performed. She was in her late 80s then and understandably frightened. She lived in a more devoutly Christian area of Virginia, so I think the topic of religion came up more organically than it would here. It gave her peace and comfort. She and my family felt very grateful for his kindness.
