I've been making moody comments in the Singles area and now I'll just be plain selfish and say what's bugging me. (I feel bad burdening others with my problems.)

I'm a new christian who has an immune disfunction. This means I'm housebound and rejected by people, particularly men, constantly. I want to marry & be in love one day...

BUT I think what's the point of praying for this if God already has it planned?

Maybe He's planned me never to have love & that's why he made me immunely disabled?

There is no cure in sight so it seems obvious he expects me to stay single.

It seems I go through all my personal growth for nothing sometimes! Why did he make me so eager to love if he was to deny me a man?

Will God punish me for questioning him?

Am I bad to think this?

no...god will not punish you fro questioning him...his will is hard to understand. I always think that I will never love someone and be marryed...but I just don't know....you could end up getting married...it's possible...God CAN miracuously cure you...it's happened before and it can happen again. Things will happen good...maybe not now, tomorrow or even in this life...but because you kept on and followed God's will...you will be rewarded greatly in heaven.

I don't know a lot about your situation, but maybe God will allow you to be introduced to a man with the same condition. Or perhaps he will show you a man who will love you just the way you are, regardless of if he is healthy or not.

IMHO, it is not good to sit and long for a man and not pray. What would be good is to put your life in God's hands and say "You know God... you know that I really want someone to love me and to love in return, you know that I am lonely... but if you will has a higher purpose for my life, then I will accept that and do what you want. Please point me in the direction I should go."

If you read the book of Job you will see that God often does not answer prayers until they are no longer our priority and demand. It is when we humbely ask, and sincerely promise to do what ever else he wants, whether or not we get our way, ... that is when our prayers are answered.

Good luck.

Hi bubblegirl23 ,

I pray the Lord And His Spirit help you mightily .

I've been making moody comments in the Singles area and now I'll just be plain selfish and say what's bugging me. (I feel bad burdening others with my problems.)

I don't think you're being selfish , by saying what's " bugging you " , I'd say you're being honest , which is a good thing , especially when we can be honest without being angry .

Merely , asking for prayer or advice is not " burdening others " , some of us enjoy sharing and caring for others in need , partly , at least in my case , because when we lend ourself to minister to others , we are ministered to , in ways that far exceed , what occurs when we seek mercy , grace , and truth for our own sake alone .

I'm a new christian who has an immune disfunction. This means I'm housebound and rejected by people, particularly men, constantly. I want to marry & be in love one day...

For the sake of your own spiritual encouragement , dwell on the things which you are able to do and enjoy , which are good and fruitful .

There are many who have been stricken in some way , who turned to God's Word , and prayer , and have been gifted to share with others , whether through writing books or , communicating even here , (over the internet etc. ) ; and they have found a deep and meaningful life , wherein their efforts help others to endure and overcome , as those with whom the Lord is pleased to welcome into His Everlasting Kingdom .

This life is not THE LIFE , as much as it may seem improbable , we who are for some reason outcasts , actually have a distinct advantage in the recognizing of this fundamental truth .

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
<-----> Colossians 3:1-4

This is not to say that marriage and love are beyond our grasp , this is to say , that the primary love and the principle marriage which will fulfill us completely , beyond all that we could think or imagine , is the Love of God in us , and our marriage to Christ and His Holy City . ( See Jeremiah 2:32 + 3:14 ; Isaiah Chapt. 54 + 60-62 & Revelation Chapt. 21 )

BUT I think what's the point of praying for this if God already has it planned?

We pray for a number of reasons .

1. We are instucted to pray . ( James 5:13+16 ; 1st Thessalonians 5:17 ; 1st Timothy 2:8 ; Mark 14:38 ; Luke 6:28 + 21:36 + 18:1-8 )

2. By praying we are acknowledging that The Lord is our provider , protector , deliverer .

3. Prayer helps to put us in a humble , reverent frame of mind .

4. Even though God knows our needs before we pray , by praying we acknowledge that we also are aware of our neediness , and are thereby ready to witness that it is the Lord's sufficiency which is to be praised and proclaimed , once our needs have been graciously met in His tender merciful lovingkindness .

5. And because prayer can make a tremendous difference , if our prayers seem to go unanswered , we are compelled to " examine our selves , whether we are sound in the faith " (See 2nd Cor. 13:5 ), ( have we been listening to what the Lord and His Spirit have be seeking to inspire to take place in our life ? Or are we trying , to make things work via a one sided relationship , where we expect God to listen to us , while we basically ignore His voice in our life ? ) This also is reason to pray .

Maybe He's planned me never to have love & that's why he made me immunely disabled?

It's not good to try and second guess ; but even if this were the case , God would no doubt have something better planned for you . ( Read 1st Corinthians Ch. 7 )

There is no cure in sight so it seems obvious he expects me to stay single.

Remember God's thoughts and ways are above ours , and we cannot surmize God's plans or intentions by what we sense physically within our current
situation .

It seems I go through all my personal growth for nothing sometimes! Why did he make me so eager to love if he was to deny me a man?

Do not attempt to restrict in advance which aspect of your life , your personal growth will noticably affect , be open to positive effects , in unexpected ways , also .

God made all creatures in general to have desire to reproduce , this desire is the strongest when one is at the prime of their physical life . This is a primary aspect of the trial of our faith , having both " natural instincts " , and " supernatural inspiration " bidding us to keep those instincts under subjection to the will of God in Christ .

Will God punish me for questioning him?

Certainly not if you do it with reverence . [ Possibly , if it is done with disrespect .] In which case , be quick to repent !

Am I bad to think this?

Not necessarily , I wouldn't say " bad " : struggling with difficulties doesn't mean we're bad .

No one will be condemned of God because they had an infirmity or we're somehow not in the best of physical health .

God has a new body waiting for us , one which will never get sick , feel hunger , thirst , or suffering , and which cannot die !

Even the best of these bodies we have now , will wax old as a garment .

There is no lasting quality in our physical selves .

This doesn't mean we shouldn't seek to be the best we can be in the physical , but that we should seek much more to be the best God can make us to be in the spiritual - in our inner man .

We are counselled to " Seek God's Kingdom and his righteousness first " , above our physical needs , ( See Matthew 6:24-34 ) , for having our priorities confused , will hinder even the meeting of our most basic needs . And if for some reason ,( which we may or may not understand completely ), some of our physical need isn't met even after our priorities are straight , the consolation of having our spiritual life in order will more than offset whatever distress not being physically perfect may cause us to experience .

I hope and pray God will greatly minister to you and turn your distress into rejoicing , your weakness into strength , and your dispair into deliverance .

In Jesus Name . Amen .

It may be God's will to use your sickness.
But God does not want you be sick, he wants you to recieve his healing.

I cannot remember the exact passage, numerous times in the Old Testiment people like Moses prayed and prayed to God. I've also once heard the question of, "should i pray to God if he already knows what he's going to do?" One thing to keep in mind is that we, as humans, cannot concieve the vastness of God. Our minds are too limited. We cannot understand fully how he works at times. But, at times Mose's prayers actually changed God's mind. Like in the destruction of Sodom and Gamorah, he prayed to God and "persuaded" him, with reverance of course, to save the city if there were 5 (5? maybe 10?) righteous people in it. Now I'm certainly not saying that God will answer every prayer like a magical gennie. But don't forget that our prayers have an influence on God.

Another such thing comes to mind when the OT says stuff like, "Israel's cries have come up to me (God), and I will now do...blah blah blah." And even if prayers aren't always answered, prayer in itself is an act of worship. And God loves it when we come before him in worship. Prayer is our telephone line to God. When you talk to a friend, it's because you've got something on your mind that you I want to talk about. In the same way, God has given us prayer in order to communicate with him when we want to. And it's not just asking for stuff/things/events. It's just worship. LOL i can't find any words now. But worship is worship and worship is great.

Praying is important because it's our communication with God. We also need to stay in prayer so that we don't go off on the wrong path again or let Satan invade our territory.

Prayer is also essential because we must confess our sins to the Lord and ask for forgiveness, help, guidance, strength, peace, encouragement, discernment, etc. We need to ask him for the needs that he provides. We need to be in prayer because that also helps us to grow and get into a closer relationship with God. We pray because it's needed in order for us to stay focused, devoted and committed. We also need to pray because God helps us in our troubled times and is the God of all comfort.

Yes. Prayer is not only asking God for what you desire or need but talking to him and asking him what he wants you to do in every intance.
I read a book by Frank Peretti called This Present Darkness. It really gives a great visual understanding of the importants of prayer. It strengthens the forces of angels against the forces against darkness to heal and protect.

I thank you all for opening your hearts. I will treasure your thoughts which I have copied down to read again when feeling lost. I've only read the Book of Matthew so far, but I think I shall be reading my bible quicker. I never realized a book so old was so full of such help. It doesn't matter what your concern is - there always seems to be answers. No other book in the world has that power! The people/person who put this book together was one who knew great spirit - God and Jesus the new heroes in my life. When I was younger I knew nothing of religion and thought the followers were "conned" as TV portrays, but now I am a converted soul, I see how cheated out of peace and love "outsiders" are. It's a shame not all religions are made as one in real life because the bible should be taught in all the schools (secular, not Sunday schools). I would have grown up more comfortable in my skin had I learnt of God instead of sports, Maths I'd never use. A lot of stuff taught is "extra information" we never really use. How often have you needed to understand the game of netball or surds to run errands?

All my love & new-found understanding,

S

Hi bubblegirl23 ,

When it comes to Bible study , I recommend The Authorized King James Version , along with Strong's Exhaustive Concordance with Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries ; and a comprehensive English Dictionary .

These can be found online .

Pray for The Lord to guide you , and give thanks for all that you receive .

It's usually best to start with The New Testament .

When a verse or a passage stands out to you , apply your study tools there , looking up the key words , names , or titles .

Search the Hebrew and Greek , as well as the English Dictionaries .

And when a particular passage has special significance to you , search with The Concordance for other verses which contain the same key words .

Dwell on the things which you do understand , trusting that the things which are mysterious now , will become plain when the time is right .

Seek to have Scripture confirm Scripture , for sound doctrine's sake .

Make your own notations , if not in the Bible , in a study notebook .

Study when and where there is not alot going on to distract you .

In my life , I have purposely sought isolation and solitude , for the sake of studying the Bible , in the absence of much distraction .

Treasure what The Lord reveals unto you , and avoid following the studies of others , as a substitute for studying Scripture personally first hand .

And May The Lord Be Pleased To Bless And Keep You .

In Jesus Name .

Amen .

This is a wonderful testimony. I encourage you to hang onto it for life. Someday, I hope you see Jesus as your man and how He will make a way for you to be important in His kingdom. You have so much to offer others, as we all do, if we see ourselves as He sees us - how greatly loved and cherished we are by Him.
Why does man not teach the truth about God in school? That is a very good question, and I think you will come to find that it is that same reason the devil fell from being the angel of light and beauty. It is pride that makes man reject God. What have we to be proud of, though, when we know so little about life and the elemental powers that govern our universe and life?
I will pray for you, that you will grow qucikly in His grace, and that He will give you the desires of your heart.

Mt 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Ps 37:4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.
