  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why do u hate rock

The day they release one of those "That's What I Call Music" CD's with a Radiohead song in it, that's when I would consider their music popular. And that's when hell will actuall freeze over.
The first "That's What I Call Music" in the US had "Karma Police" on it. So I guess Hell froze over in 1998. :D

Rock is boring to me. I heard it all my life, same old same old.

I was once in a rock stage too, but I moved on to find bigger and better genres.
i was just noticing your signature... officer negative used to play around here all the time.

chad wiggins used to work in the same office building as my dad. i saw him around. he had an awesome van.

officer negative = good christian hardcore

but by the way, hardcore is not a "bigger and better genre" than rock.

Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean you should make fun of it.

Certain people speak different ways, it's the way things are. Different types of slang are invented overtime, and many people adopt to talking in those slangs. So why don't you just chill out and learn to accept culture other than yours?

If you only listen ot rock that makes the top 40 most of that sucks. Some is good. Good rock bands don't sound like every other band out today. Some bands don't put up consistent great music but do have a song or two that is awesome. Some of my favorite bads are:

A Perfect Circle
Old Metallica (around 15 years old and older)
Fuel
Tool
System of a Down

Lots of bands I find cool because they just seem pleasant to listen to but the absolute best make you go wow and you FEEL the music. The overly repitive stuff will sound cool at first but really feel hollow to you after a while. But this really is true in ANY genre.

But in this case, they're not speaking another language, they're butchering the English language.

My favorite bands are foreign(Rammstein and Nightwish, specifically), mostly because I think there are too many american bands that just get up there and act like morons for money, or write songs that they have no experience in, but think kids will want to hear(*cough*Simple Plan*cough*). Linkin Park has a few good songs, Disturbed is pretty freaky, but I do like the sound of Draiman's voice and their guitars, so I only listen to it every now and then. Most of what people call "punk" today sucks so bad its not even funny.

Example: My bro likes a band called My Chemical Romance, and his fav/ song is I'm Not Ok. That song is an abomination. The lead singer SUCKS at singing, he looks like a Marylin Manson wannabe, and his lyrics make little sense, but you understand that he is whining about something.

Just shoot all the whiners and put some classic rock on(Metallica, ACDC Twisted Sister, Aerosmith, come on man!)

I hate country, half because of how simple the lyrics sound, and the irritating instrumentals.

I dislike most rap because it is WAY too repetitive, and most of it is too vulgar, but I do enjoy some of the more comedic videos(cut out the swearing and talking about women getting drunk in Get Back and it would be perfect.)

Yeah, that video of "Get Back" is hilarious. Another Spike Jonze hit.
