Life is a state, a condition, that can be enjoyed forever. Death is merely a momentary transition from one kind of life (body and soul) to another (soul with no body). Perhaps someone could be eternally dying, but the word death doesn't imply anything more than having a soul, but not having a body.the opposite to enternal life should be enternal death.
The Bible teaches purgatory so I believe it. But purgatory has nothing to do with hell. Purgatory is merely the cleansing of the soul so it becomes fit for eternity in the presence of God.speaking of whishful thinking, you catholics believe in purgatory.
The body would be destroyed by even 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The soul can't feel heat because heat is an aspect of the physical realm but the soul resides in the spiritual realm. Feeling heat requires a body.yes people get different punishment, like someone feels 10000 deegress and the other one only feels 400 deegrees.
Yes.To me the concept of hell flies in the face of any concept of a just and compassionate God. Hell would seem to be an entirely human invention based on a vindictive concept of retributory justice. Perhaps we have the wrong idea of hell. Perhaps we have the wrong idea of justice. Perhaps we have the wrong idea of God. I completely reject the concept of hell as it is traditionally understood in most Christian churches.
This view is not in the Nicene Creed.Because someone can't call themselves Christian if they don't believe that He'll is forever.
The rules of the forum consider belief in the Trinity to be essential if I am remembering correctly.Tell that to people that tell me that Nontrinitarians can't be Christians, can't have it both ways.
People choose hell by rejecting God's divine presence, preferring instead to cling to their sin. Judgment is not a courtroom but, rather, God shines his light upon us and we choose either to run to him, or else we are repelled from him. Those steeped in sin can't freely choose because they are in bondage, a slave to sin.Nobody puts themselves in hell on purpose.
Yes, they may end up there because of their sins, but that's not the same as "choosing to go to hell"
People steeped in sin don't run to hell on purpose; rather, they are repelled there, as if repelled by a magnet, when God shines his light upon them.If people ran to hell because they can't stand the presence of God then absolutely nobody would be debating this.
God knows the future, he did know that humans where gonna be sinners and end up in hell.
Angels, just like humans, will be tortured in hell and therefore hell is for everyone.
yeah no more pain for those in heaven.
So when scripture says hell was made for Satan and his demons you believe God lied?

I suppose you could say that death is this condition of having a soul but not having a body, and I suppose this could be eternal.
Why do some 'Christians' believe that He'll is not eternal?
They apparently haven't read the whole Bible.

Wrong they have, that is why they believe it is not eternal.
"Eternal" is the English interpretation of the Greek word 'Aion', which basically means "a long period of time", or a time unclear to measure. This Greek word essentially entails that eternity in a context is finite, and thus it is in stark contrast with the conventional Christian understanding of eternal torment in Hell.It doesn't make sense to me at all, what do they think Hell* is for in that case?
What does "He Shall Be TORMENTED With Fire And Brimstone" mean to you ?
That he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone.
Exactly. So, if a Human Person takes the Mark of The Beast or worships The Beast they will be Tormented with Fire and Brimstone.
