Why do you sit verse one by itself as if that's all Hosea wrote? Chapters and verses were added in the Middle Ages and did not exist in the text prior to that point. You have pulled one sentence out of a complete thought and stood it alone to prove a point which does the exact opposite. That you have to manipulate the text in such a way shows your interpretation is contrived.

I notice you aren't adding the next sentence in order to show Jesus was an idolater and sacrificed to foreign gods. Guess that part doesn't refer to Jesus? Who does sentence two refer to?

You seem sincere, but I don't believe you have the capacity to truly debate me on these things. I am pointing out things that are very basic Biblical ideas such as HaShem calling His people "Israel" or "Jacob" and referring to them in a singular way. I cannot convince you of this even though Christian scholars agree that it is the case. I don't think you can critically read the Bible and debate it.

You should enjoy your faith and be happy with it but not try debating.

I have debated with you the most debated prophesies and unbelieved by the Jews to give you a chance.
I could start pulling up prophesies that you will have no answer to, but i don't want belittle someone that way.

So let get back to a friendly discussion here. there no need for anyone to get annoyed with someone over religion. And the bible says where 2 people can not come to an agreement the spirit is not present, so let us come to an agreement to discuss this civilly

I know nothing of the kind. All text must be read in context with the sentences around it to determine if it is a prophecy or if it isn't. Taking a short phrase out of the text and using it as a prophecy is manipulating the text.

LoAmmi, Matthew makes a lot more sense if you understand what he is doing with the Tanakh. For him, Jesus is a microcosm of Israel. He is seen as acting out the story of Israel in His own Person.

I know what he's trying to do. But that he's trying to do it basically makes me reject it.

Also I laugh every time I picture Jesus riding two donkeys into Jerusalem because Matthew didn't understand idioms.
