Stop obsessing over poor little ol me. Start getting a case.

"Proof" is an unreasonable standard for anything but math.... and whisky.Nor did I claim it was an obvious myth.
Would you be willing to prove it is? If it's that obvious, shouldn't be a problem.
Not really. Besides the fact you have nothing to say that has any value about some sunken city of yesteryear, we should remember that the bible is not some fly by night half baked recollection of fourth hand fables.
Your beliefs are not evidence.
You are welcome to your beliefs and biases and baseless doubts. You can even try to associate them with the word reality if you like. When you get more come on back to the science forum area.
Well, next time you use the word I'll try to spell it out.How am I misusing 'reality' though? You've still not actually explained how I'm misusing it.
Well, there is one place it talks about giants in the land!?Dinosaurs, for one thing. Countries that are never mentioned in the Bible that existed at the same time as the Bible was written. Uranium (I just like that word really). A lot of things.
Conversely if we think even a bit more we might realize money is a feature of this nature, who even says commerce would work the same in a world where man lived in a world where perhaps the brain processed info differently? We may even ask if a lot of the reason we need writing to remember stuff is because our brains function differently? After all, something affected the way men think and process info, otherwise the language would all still be the same. Suddenly it was different.
Then there is the thought that even if some degree of written stuff was existent, who could read it anymore anyhow!? Ha.
Dad (and the rest of us here) would probly be unable to comprehend middle English, and unable to even recognize old English as a ancestor of modern English.I can't even begin to address the many errors included herein - I literally don't know where to start.
The language YOU speak isn't even the same as the language that your DIRECT parents spoke. You today use words and sounds that they didn't. They used words and sounds that you don't. Dialects evolve all the time, much like species do.

I can't prove a negative claim. Prove that there was one, without simply quoting the Bible.

An ancient tablet provides the first ever image of the tower of Babel and offers a "very strong piece of evidence" that it was a real building. That's according to Dr. Andrew George, professor of Babylonian at SOAS University of London. His work is featured in a new episode of "Secrets" on the Smithsonian Channel. The 6th century B.C. tablet was discovered in Babylon more than 100 years ago. Because it was privately owned, linguists have not been able to study it until now. George was able to interpret the text and found that its account of the tower's construction is identical to the biblical story. But George also believes that the text shows that the Babylonian ruler Nebuchadnezzar II built the tower and that's where scholars disagree.I think that the only source for the tower of Babel comes from the Bible, then yeah, I'd say my claim that it didn't exist is pretty spot on. So, how am I not paying attention if I'm asking for non-Biblical sources?
