...but I have personally witnessed teachers say that it disproves a God...
If you have, you should make more of an issue of it. For a public high school biology teacher to say such a thing to his students is a serious breach of professionalism and a clear violation of the First Amendment. The ACLU might even take it on.

And you conclude this based on your relevant post-secondary education and experience in science, surely.
As I said, the resources I have as a layman, I make a conclusion.

I don't go half cocked, I study as hard as I can before speaking on a subject, and on the subject of evolution, it hasn't sold me on it.

Berlinski is a philosopher by education. I was unaware he wrote a book about evolution - what is the title?

I do know that Berlinski has sad that creationism is "an empty doctrine."
By education, but that doesn't mean he knows nothing of evolution, or isn't qualified to speak on it.

And I *think* the book is called the devils delusion.

Aye, I would, and perhaps it would be the right thing to do.

But admittedly, I'm not the kind to start trouble.
Though I know one of em that did it in my district got fired for yelling at the children quite harshly.

So creationists, why do you think biological evolution is taught in schools?

2 Corinthians 4:4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Good. I must say that my experience of the public schools is not favorable, neither as a student, a father of students nor as a teacher (I subbed my way through graduate school). If I didn't know any more about the theory of evolution than is generally taught in high schools I might not have any use for it myself.

Public schools, private schools, college. They all do it really. Can't attest to the college one, as I haven't personally witnessed it, or seen video (though I haven't sought it out). But I've heard tale.

I watched the Ray Comfort and Krauss video and Krauss absolutely did not say a book could make itself or anything like that. What he said was something like [about if the book could just pop into existence] Of course not. But DNA is not anything like a book. " If you want to continue saying that he said that rewatch the clip because you are wrong.

Evolution, has no bearing for, or against the Christian beliefs. And it's high time people stop acting like it does.

You should talk to your fellow Christians about that, because many feel differently.

True, but his writings and videos on the subject, those that I have read or seen, show that he is not qualified to do so.
And I *think* the book is called the devils delusion.
That book is about his beef with atheism. it may mention evolution, but if his writing on the subject in that book is anything like his claims about whale evolution, then I see little reason the waste the effort on his inane self-indulgence.

As an aside - what would you consider his qualifications are such that he IS qualified to write about evolution?

I feel the same way about Christian theology.

I did, however, spend 5 years toiling away in graduate school doing research on evolution. This is why, in part, I can see the holes in so many anti-evolution arguments. it is entertaining, to say the least :)

What else is new. You have an extremely well evidenced scientific theory, that happens to contradict the theological beliefs, of a minority of Christians. When those specific beliefs are important to these folks personal psyche, guess what, those beliefs will be protected at all costs.

Evolution plain and simple, threatens certain theological beliefs and it must be demonized and defended against, to ward off the cognitive dissonance.

Kinda like how Christians are being demonized now for simply not agreeing?
Hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy.

Last I checked, it is Christians that like to use the whole demon concept. Bottom line, you are allowed to believe as you will and others are allowed to learn well evidenced science, if they so choose.
