She has also made some claims of her own, such as her claim that she hears God in her mind and then her denial of that claim. Besides, I think she is old enough to be able to defend herself.

Well then, how about answering my questions instead of evading them. Here are the questions I’ve asked you that you have evaded.

You have evaded every one of those questions. Not once have you provided any sound, objective evidence to show that your God is real. The problem isn’t that your beliefs can be invalidated; it’s that they were never validated in the first place. How can anyone examine your beliefs if you evade any questions about them and fail to even define what it is you believe? This evasiveness and vagueness is what I’ve come to expect from religious believers and it reveals the underlying causes of your belief.
I can tell you that I prayed and asked God to help my unbelief. The prayer quotes from the Bible: “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” Mark 9:24 New King James Version.

Months later, Holy Spirit touched me and I am sure, because of the knowledge He gave me that God is interested in every facet of my life.

I asked God, for years to heal me of my anxiety. He has. I was crippled by anxiety and it is no longer a problem.

Neither of these is repeatable, because I don't have a problem with anxiety anymore and I know that God is and is deeply interested in me and my life.

Please examine them and let me know if you can invalidate them.

Good morning Sigma :)

Well I personally do not wear a Cross, but If I did it (The Cross Necklace&Faith) would signify love, honour and respect for Jesus, and what He did and went through on the Cross for me/for all of us. :)

Thanks for asking

Hope your day is going well.

Could you please explain what you mean by “for Faith”? Are you speaking for yourself or for others? Why do you personally wear a cross (if you do)?

I didn’t know what to make of this when I first read it. I thought perhaps you were being facetious or stringing me along because it seemed a bit too extreme to be believable. It seems like a caricature of religious belief. You even note twice that you think your God is deeply interested in every facet of your particular life. Then there were the words of praise and admiration from rosenherman and bluwaterz that made it seem like they were your sock puppets. Altogether, it just didn’t ring true.

But then I remembered Poe’s law. After recalling some of the other things I’ve read and heard from religious believers, I’m now inclined to think that you three are actually being serious. This post of yours strengthens my suspicions about the underlying causes of religious belief. I suspect that the two main causes are insecurity and credulity and here you are telling me that you believe in your God because it quells your anxiety, yet you can offer no sound, objective evidence to support your belief.

Believing something because it quells your anxiety doesn’t make it true and it doesn’t make it valid—it just makes it understandable.

As I told you earlier, my evidence would not suffice for you. It's more than enough for me. Although I do find your credulity and naiveté somewhat entertaining. You actually think that everything that exists can be proven.

Well, I can tell you about my sister's nephew who was hit by a car and suffered head injuries. He was awake and talking less than a week later and out of the hospital in two weeks. The doctors didn't know if he'd even wake up and now he's fine. Prayer power! A member of my congregation was diagnosed with liver cancer. In a short period (a week or so) without treatment the tumor shrank and part of it that had been spreading disappeared. Prayer Power!

It won't be enough for you either.

No, it would not suffice for me. The question is why is it enough for you?

No, but I do think that if you claim that something is real or something actually happened then you should have at least some sound, objective evidence to show that what you claim is true. You claimed that your God is deeply interested in every facet of your life. Can you produce any sound, objective evidence to show that your claim is true?

You only need to click on the link to solve your problem. After you’ve done that, please show me the sound evidence that demonstrates that prayers had anything to do with the recoveries in your anecdotes.
They were prayed for and recovered and/or got better. Sounds good to me.

May God be thanked if this be so!

As Paul rightly states, "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: 'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.' Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the Wisdom of God the world through its "wisdom" did not know Him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the Power of God and the Wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's "wisdom," and the weakness of God is stronger than man's "strength."(I Corinthians I:18-25)

Of course you don't know what to make of this!

A BOND-SLAVE/FRIEND/BROTHER OF OUR LORD/GOD/SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST,
ephraim
