  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why do Christians hate Wicca(Witchcraft)?

Of course, looking at this from another point of view.

One could say:

"I just have one question for you Aaron, do you believe in odin? If not, then your religion is wrong."

Not to convincing is it? ;) :D

(Yes I just pulled odin out of the air)

:D

I just have one question for the wicca chick. Do you believe in Christ? If not, then your religion is wrong. The end.

You are misunderstanding the meaning of that. I was saying that from a Christians perspective. I wasnt saying that to convince anyone... just to let it be known that it is irrational to believe in Christ and to also think that Wicca is right... of course I believe it is wrong... doesnt mean I hate anyone.

I agree with annabel lee. My best friend is wiccan does that make me a bad person? We just don't talk about our religions and our friendship is fine. Sometimes we walk the edge and question eachother but it has never gone any further than that. I am not trying to convert and neither is she.

I'm a witch, and I'd love to know what the heck it is that Christians dislike about us.

glad to meet you... and glad to have you here..

I'm a Christian (depends on who you ask though) and I have no hate for anyone.

I'm currently doing research on Truths about Witches..
May I PM you with questions?

For those who do show you hatred,
they do so out of simple ignorance.

Hatred is the result of ignorance... i.e. people tend to hate/fear what they don't understand.

Christians used to (and still do in some circles) hate Slaves, Africans, Native Americans, Homosexuals... the list goes on and on.

Sorry if anyone treats you unkindly. It doesn't reflect well on our religion, and FWIW, some of us are intelligent enough to realize Christianity is about love, understanding, tolerance, and acceptance...

Christ himself preferred the company of non-believers over believers.

I am a Christian. I don't know anything about Wicca, so I can't condemn you. And as far as I can think, the only person I've ever been guilty of intensely hating is "Dr. Phil."

I'd love to learn more about Wicca, if you want to share, or post a link, or PM me.

Hate, I try to avoid..
Dr. Phil comes on too early for me to watch.

Personally, I've had about enough of being pounded with his 'philosophy' as well as the Oprah woman.

I think it was Dr. Phil who gave out the advice that 'The past makes us who we are, and something to the extent that we can't forget the past'...

Nice going Dr. Phil, By your advice, I'll never obtain forgiveness for the mistakes of my past...

Where do I sign up to be a guest on his show? I'd really love to lock brains with him....

God said witchcraft is evil, so we have to agree otherwise we wouldn't be Christians.

May I use your logic to point out something else?

Mark wrote we can take up poisonous snakes and drink poison without fearing harm...

The Eastern Diamond Back Rattlesnakes will be coming out of hybernation soon here... plus I can mix up a nice cyanide drink..

Care to demonstrate the truth in this scripture? I mean, the Bible sais it.. if it isn't true, then we can't be Christians can we?

It's a fair cop.

errr... actually they used to behead, burn at the stake, rack and quarter, or imprison skeptics such as myself.

a century later, and ideals change...

weird.. huh?

Amen Smilin.
I feel very strongly against the "christian" veiw point of, "I don't like what you do, because it's against Gods view, and that means i hate you too!".
This is the kind of thinking that gives us christians who actually read the bible and the message of peace that is contained within it, a bad name.
We are labelled as hypocrites because we hate people who do not share the same beliefs, yet it clearly states in the bible that we should love our enemies!
Does anyone else see that this is the complete opposite of what the real message of Christ is?
I do not hate you. I do not *hate* anyone. I have strong beliefs against their religions and views, but i love the person behind the dogma, because that is the fundamental message of Christianity, and unless this is done, how do we expect to show people the message of Christ?
Through words? No, because words from the "enemy" are *always* considered biased, or misguided. People are generally closed minded about other beliefs when they hold their own as the truth.
Through love and actions? Yes, because this is what it means to "witness".

Love in Christ
Chris

Is that right?
Please don't speak for me.
I can be a Christian and not think Wicca is evil.
It is a Nature Religion. It's not evil, it is not Satanic.

agreed, and my culture prefers to worship the Creator in nature...

I would agree. Not all christians hate Wiccas.

However, there are many "christians" who use their religion as an excuse to hate and belittle other people.
Im not wiccan but I like to wear a pentacle (and like the pentacle anyway :) ) and I have had my share of run ins with hatefull christians. However, I dont take them to represent their entire religion.

lol... and I've had run-ins with several 'drones' who have no sense of humor over my 'warped' bumper stickers....

So, I can relate.

Why do Christians hate Wicca (Witchcraft) ?

Now, mind you, I am not talking about the use of herbal remedies or that stuff. I am just talking about the use of rituals and what is involved therein.
;)  God love ya!

So in other words, I don't like Wicca because I'm no longer a Wiccan and believe that the Christian criteria are the only ones for a religion I can respect?

and I don't like Burger King because I no longer work there and believe that McDonalds is the only fast food restauraunt that knows how to cook hamburgers... :D

If that is true, then why do you post on a Christian board?  Please don't take this the wrong way, but I can't understand why you bother with this board if you feel so strongly about your beliefs.  You know that the majority of the people here (those who are Christian) will not agree with you.

Kathy

Why do Christians post on the Atheist and Infidel forum?????...

creator.gif

To become more informed people.... that's why.

And treat Rae with respect please, she's a veteran here,
and a loving, caring human being.

What would you have... a forum where non-believers aren't allowed?

ummm... THEN it WOULDN'T be a TRUE Christian forum then... would it?

Besides, she's one of the few who can answer the truths associated with her particular religious choice. (Most here have no clue, only what they've been taught).

And another thing... last time I checked... there is such a thing as Freedom of religion (or freedom from it), as well as freedom of speech.

Respectfully,
Smilin
