Why didn't Yeshua tell Saul to repent?

Just when I stumbled onto how to use the multi quote, I am temporarily unable to access it.

Actions speak louder than words.

When I was a Squad Leader in the Army I was in charge of 7-8 men, and was held personally responsible for their health and well being.

One day I was heading back to the barracks, coming from the mess hall (cafeteria), and I saw my platoon sergeant standing over two of my men, which he had in the front leaning rest (preparing to knock out some push-ups), which is a standard disciplinary act;

So when I saw this, I immediately stepped forward, and as I was in motion to join my men who were in the front leaning rest position, yea with one hand already on the ground, I said, ‘Sergeant Eckersley! Why are my men in the front leaning rest?’, at which time my platoon sergeant says, ‘Why don’t you join them sergeant Ellis’ (in essence, commanding me to get down into the front leaning rest);

I cannot put into words how annoying that was for me, he (more than likely) was not going to instruct me (a non commissioned officer) to get down in the front leaning rest (and abase me before men who were merely enlisted, not) until he saw me already in motion;

Though I was in the process of performing what anyone in my position is supposed to do, I have never seen anyone execute this, let alone be required to execute it.

To enhance the ire brewing in me was the fact that these were my men, and if anyone requires them to be in the front leaning rest (during a lunch break, SMH) it should be at my bequest, there is a such thing called, the ‘Chain of Command’, and my platoon sergeant was effectively standing in violation of it.

When he told me why he had my men in the front leaning rest, I snapped to my feet and commanded my men ‘On your feet! Go to lunch!’, and so they did as they were commanded;

My platoon sergeant really did not like me one bit before this incident, wherefore he was tickled pink to think he had me in a case of failing to perform my duties and gross insubordination, wherefore he said to me, ‘Sergeant Ellis I will see you in the First Sergeant’s office at zero four hundred hours (4pm), then (he) walked away;

I went straight to AG (the Adjutant General’s office), I figured, two can play this game, I not only went over his head, I went over the head of every non commissioned officer within my immediate chain of command, yea I went to the top, the Division Command Sergeant Major, the highest ranking sergeant at ft. Ord, he was not just the right hand man of the Division General, he personally ran the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) on our post, where I simply delivered my case, and was casually dismissed, with the instructions, return to your unit.

At 4pm I reported to the First Sergeant’s office as directed, where I was asked to give an account of my actions, I immediately cited an army regulation which permitted a (temporary) Mixed Uniform, due to a shortage of camouflaged field jackets in supply, allowing us to wear our olive drab field jacket over our camouflaged uniforms;

Then recited the events which took place at lunch time, and concluded, my men were wearing their OD field jackets while in camouflaged uniform, and sergeant Eckersley one, jumped the chain of command, and two placed two of my men (who were on their way to lunch), in the front leaning rest as if they were in violation of the UCMJ.

Immediately my First Sergeant gave me an ultimatum, either I accept a chapter 16 (unable to adapt) Discharge or stay and have my case held in a military court, honestly I did not see that coming, it was a miracle in eyes, free at last, free at last, the very next day I began the clearing process, and a Voice from Heaven said to me, ‘What you did for them, you will now do for me.’

Now, you are correct when you say that Repentance should come first, and as a priority, be in effect, however Repentance is an act of one’s Heart and Mind, which will reflect and be seen influencing one’s actions and speech, those who can clearly see that they were mistaken somehow, they do not require someone to instruct them to repent, when they are already in the process of Repenting, which includes a re evaluation of one’s personal perspective;

Repentance goes far beyond the conveyance of, I’m Sorry, especially when such speech can prove to be pure lip service, thus to say I repent, does not effect Repentance whatsoever, it merely let’s who ever is in the audience know that you acknowledge a discrepancy on your own behalf, the words alone, offer no assurance to one actually repenting;

Otherwise, it is better to realize the need to Repent, than someone else finding a need to inform you to repent, likewise it is better to Repent than to say you Repent.

I suppose I could of just asked, Do you know of anyone in the Scriptures ever undergoing a Change of Heart to the extent as Saul underwent?

Even if you could, that would not take away from the fact that the willing (and drastic) Change of Course in Saul’s life could have only been a direct result of his Repentance.

Yonah was not willingly to go preach unto the people of Nineveh, it took a little help from a big fish to encourage his Repentance, and though the big fishy encouraged him to comply, his repentance stopped short, where Saul’s began to thrive.

Paul was far from being perfect, the buffeting of Hashatan 3X let’s us know that he had a bout with Pride (at least on 3 occasions), or else the one who rules over the children of Pride would not have laid a finger on him.

And those who are familiar with the two accounts reciting David’s numbering of Ishrael, then they ought to know that an act of Hashatan is an act of Yah’s Anger.

O.k., so David was not perfect and Saul was not perfect, their perfection awaited them as it awaits us all, I really do not understand how an imperfect being can speak ill of another imperfect being as if they themselves stood on solid ground.

But to take an anti Pauline stance after Peter warned us about those who would Mangle Paul’s speech, that is…..an act of ignoring Peter!s Warning.

Peter’s warning permits us to scrutinize everything ascribed to Paul, but in no way justifies us to believe the report of those which mangle his speech.
