Look up entropy, or the second law of thermodynamics. Improvement only comes by way of He Who Exists Outside the Universe.

I'm going to try that the next time the spouse tells me to clean the house. "Sorry, hon, nothing can be done to fight entropy. I think we just have to move to a new house."

I can only hope you get a better reaction than I did...

Wow, I've never heard "satisfice", and I know a couple of people in public admin; maybe it's not universal?

I've heard it before, but I always thought it was one of those business buzzwords that becomes trendy for a couple of years then disappears.

I just looked it up, and it is in the dictionary, as "Accept an available option as satisfactory" or "To pursue the minimum satisfactory condition or outcome".

It could be useful, but somehow it doesn't feel right...

I'm hardly a sun worshiper. The sun is only a localized electrical phenomenon in the electric universe. I worship the One Who is not contained in that universe, but yet (as yeshuaslavejeff states) fills it.

No, the Sun is not an electrical phenomenon; it is a star that generates energy by fusing hydrogen nuclei into helium. Also, whether the Sun is a nuclear fusion reactor or an electrical phenomenon, it is still the source of the energy that enables terrestrial life to exist and evolve.

Why didn't dinosaurs evolve to be more intelligent?

They did; some of them evolved into birds.
Ravens are in the top 10 most intelligent species on the planet,

Also, dinosaurs were probably more intelligent than their Permian and Early Triassic ancestors. It would be interesting to know whether there is evidence for differences in intelligence between Jurassic and Cretaceous dinosaurs with similar ways of life.
