I much prefer an honest answer over a Christian one.

The two are not mutually exclusive, as you seem to think they are.

In any case, if that is truly how you feel, then there are plenty of secular forums to find such answers. Christians will answer from a Christian viewpoint, obviously, and this is all the more true when we're talking about Jesus. Do you honestly expect any different?

I expect honest answers from anyone I'm conversing with. Is that too much to ask?

There aren't many Christians to torment on an Atheist forum.

Yes, I have been told several times by Atheists here that they are on a Christian forum because Atheist forums are "boring."

I suppose toying with Christians is an amusing pastime for some. Personally, I have much better things to do than play games with someone just because I don't agree with their faith.

And how do you know a Christian answer isn't an honest answer? You implied that there is no such thing when you said you prefer an honest answer to a Christian one.

Agreed, Amariselle. That's why it's always a good idea not to allow yourself to be jumped by several such people here or to allow them to get away with using the "Philosophy" forum as an Atheist safe house (as can be witnessed in post 345).

Whether or not someone else simply decides to state that I gave a "badly reasoned answer" has no bearing on whether is was actually badly reasoned, nor does it indicate whether or not the answer given was even honestly considered. People can have biases and presuppositions that cause them to automatically dismiss even well thought out answers that others give.
You think you gave a well thought out answer?
A question about Jesus asked on a Christian forum. You can expect Christian answers and viewpoints. If you think there shouldn't be any, it is YOU who needs to revise your expectations accordingly. Again, Christian philosophy is a real thing.
Where did I say that there shouldn't be any? I clarified that this isn't a Q&A board.
If you were truly a Christian once, then you know the answer from a Christian standpoint.
You're not able to articulate it?
Absolutely. You understand that you are on a Christian forum in the philosophy section addressing a question about Jesus' Ascension after rising from the dead, right?
Yes. Unlike you, I understand how the philosophy forum operates. It's not a Q&A board.
Then, I ask again, what are you hoping to accomplish by saying that "Jesus was nothing special" on a Christian forum?
In the context in which I said it, it was part of a discussion, no? So obviously the goal is to further that discussion. You could address the point, rather than asking why it was made.

Ok, answer this as honestly as you can;

How tall is Jesus?

The individual in question seems to have confused it for the Exploring Christianity forum. This forum is not a Q&A or outreach board. It's under Discussion and Debate.

They won't always tell you they're atheists - they sign up and log in as 'christian' ....

on their own websites they tell one another how to mock christians/
perhaps half of the "asking for advice" "need help" "oh woe is me so and so did this to me" posts are from atheists and dozens of posters and hundreds of posts may get posted in reply (whether to help, or whatever), all tied up on a thread started by a mocking atheist..... (the "good" pity posts are copied/ repeated/ 'taught' at the atheists sites, then "kindly" passed on to any 'christian' forum they care to harass that lets them stay (they will log in as 'christians' or atheists, it doesn't matter to them) ) ....

Then surely you have a link to back up this assertion? An example?

... "on their own websites" ....
... found searching for "christianforums" key word...
no, I won't advertise where they are..... I got sick at heart for them (recognizing the pain , and loss, and deprivation and great emptiness) just visiting them and lightly reading what they post there (they are vehemently opposed to God and God's people, and vulgar to the extreme with no restraint)....
