  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why did Jesus have to die?

BIG SMILE: I LOVE THE WAY OF GOD
They called it the WAY for a reason:

Because its the WAY to life; its the WAY out of sin; JESUS is the WAY into the FATHER:

HE died in the flesh and rose to life so that we can die in our flesh and live new lives. Thus we are saved from the sin of our old natures; being that all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory;
BUT when we come to JESUS: HE has the power to keep us; and if we slip we have the mercy to STAND and to keep fighting the good fight of faith; for the love of our souls in JESUS: for our love for Him and IN HIM do we fight; so that we may be IN the FATHER THROUGH JESUS FOREVER: ITS BLESSED: Im so greatful; i didnt deserve to be changed and spared from the things i used to do: I was a wicked man; but GOd saw fit to save me from my sins; and to show me mercy; and to teach me how to claim righteousness through faith in JESUS: LEtting Jesus live in me and empower my actions through His Shed blood on the cross:
So JESUS Saves us from sin; BUT WHY DID WE GO INTO SIN
SO that we can understand what righteousness and love really means: SO we can learn what it takes to live in Gods presence for ever; so that we can be made strong and so that we can enjoy Gods love:
Adam didnt enjoy it;
when he sinned he said; it was that woman you gave me; the animals were not enough for adam:
God allows this to happen so that we can grow to love and ENJOY and shine in His presence as children: AMEN: BLess you; Thank you JESUS
\

THATS SO IMPORTANT:
God wants a creation that loves Him as a child plays with His Father: God allows us to ENJOY His Holy love: And to honor it; and to be strong enough to live in it: To build up a faith that doesnt doubt so that we will never leave His love;
satan left; God wasnt enough for him;
so what if adam stayed the way he was; what if adam never sinned: what man would enjoy and love Gods presence. NOONE
WE would take God for granted just like adam did and just like some of the angels did:
God did this so that we can live in what it takes to live; FAITH: GRATITUDE LOVE: BIG SMILE: BLESS YOU: God spoke to my heart for you because He loves you. and He loves you because He loves you; SMILE: Recieve it; BE BLESSED: And enjoy the love of GOD: Its so beautiful: Bless us all forever Lord; you touch our hearts;
we love You; to You be the Glory for ever: : Bless All

Dear CutiePi. God is all-Powerful and all Knowing, God knew what awaited Jesus on Earth, and God could have prevented it. Here are some of the reasons why God did not : God made us in His image and God loves us, God is our Heavenly Father. God also gave us free will, free will to choose our own futures: either with God for eternity, or Without God in Outer Dakness without the Love of God and Light. God gave us His 10 Commandments, and Jesus gave us 2 Commandments, and on those two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. 1) Love God with all our hearts, with all our souls, and with all our minds. 2) Love our neighbour as ourselves. ( In Matthew, chapter 22, verses 35-40) It is Love which God wants from us, freely given and no conditions tagged on. In 1) Corinthians, chapter 13, verses 4-8, Paul tells us what Love is: not only a feel-good factor, but also a doing-word, And Love changes people and enmities and all wrong and unkind attitudes, Love makes us into the children/sons and daughters, which God wants us to be. Easy and straightforward to remember, and can be done if we really try. If Jesus had not become our Saviour, if He had not paid the Prize which God`s Holy Law demanded for our sins and transgresssions, what do you imagine would have happened to us, CutiePi? God could have looked the other way, and let Satan take over. Remember God does not force us to anything, even Love God wants freely given and no tags attached. It just does not bear to think about. When Jesus died on Golgotha, He vanquished Satan and Death has lost its sting. Satan has no power anymore, and Death lost its power to frighten us: we know to whom we belong, and where we are going. Jesus is our Saviour and The Way, and Jesus will give us His Love and Joy, and the Holy Spirit will give us His Love, also. Jesus told us to: " ask and ye will be given," and then we thank God and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour. ( all around us) God is Love and Jesus died out of Love for God and for us, and now Jesus lives for us, He is with God-Father, pleading our prayers for us: He is our Intercessor. I say this with love, and send greetings. From Emmy, your sister in Christ.

Because God so loved us that he didn't want to put the wrath upon us that we deserve. How does a holy God reconcile his sinful people back to himself? Through the cross. Ephesians 2:3 "among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind"
As Christians, we have to understand that we were dead, we were hopeless and we were separated from God. If we don't understand how we were prior the cross doesn't seem as significant.

Hello all, I'm having a tough time understanding why Jesus had to die... and in such a brutal way too.

I always seems to come back to "well if God knew that that was going to happen when ____ (He created man, He made those laws, etc.), why didn't He just make it so it didn't have to happen?"

So I guess I have two questions then:

Why did Jesus have to die? (in such a brutal way???)
Why did God not do something differently that made it so that he wouldn't have to die?
It really doesn’t make sense until you realize that Jesus is God our Savior, the Lord our God, God in the flesh… and God did it because…

God was in heaven and he created a person or a people group to be a royal son to bare his image… but each one screwed up.

What did Adam do? disobeyed
What did Israel do? disobeyed

God didn’t give up….

He was in a covenant with man… it had to take place.

Man has to do it, so God became a man, Jesus Christ, and does it for us.

God fulfills mans responsibility that man can’t do for himself.

God came to the earth as a human, whatever is true of man is true of Jesus… whatever is true of God is true of Jesus… God Man.

What do you mean "man has to do it"?

Man has to be righteous/perfect/sinless… to bare God's image, but all failed. So God redeemed us by living the perfect life for us and crediting Jesus life to us, so now a righteousness apart from the law is credited to us through faith in Jesus. God did what we could not do for ourselves, He fulfilled the law...

I agree with what's in bold, but DOES man have to be righteous? I would disagree.

The sacrifice didn't have to be made. It was done because of God's steadfast love for us.

What was done? Christ died for our sins... God credits believers with the righteousness of Christ... we have no righteousness of our own... is that what you are referring to?

No, I'm referring to:
"He was in a covenant with man… it had to take place.

Man has to do it, so God became a man, Jesus Christ, and does it for us"

Which part do you disagree with...

God was in a covenant with man
or
Man has to do it
or
God became a man, Jesus Christ
or
Jesus lived the perfect life for us

or All of the above?
