Got it. So no difference between topology and just picking and choosing stuff that matches your narrative out of the Old Testament and (voila) making it a prophecy fulfilled.

No, you didn't "get it." And you need to stop jumping to a conclusion and attempting to outguess your interlocutor. You also need to not come across as if you expect a "complete answer," especially one that can't always be given in any one single posted response.

So.................................my position is that there IS a difference between Jewish tYpology and just "pick'n n'choos'n." There's also a difference between the concept of tYpology and tOpology. :dontcare:

If you can make Hosea 11:1 into a prophecy, why can't you make tOpology into tYpology? Good catch on the typo.

Well, it isn't really 'me' that's making Hosea 11:1 into a prophecy ...

However, even if you made a typo, the interesting thing is that tOpology also is a 'thing' and has a place alongside tYpology within the field of Hermeneutics. So, I'll give you a pass on the typo. ;)

Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:4 that Christ was buried and raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures.

Where is this prophesied that Christ was going to be buried and raised on the third day? Seems to me at least some Christians were getting carried away with finding their "prophecies".
So you have moved on to question another Prophecy?

The only prophetic sign was Jonah.
As well, CHRIST saying tear down this temple and in three days I will build it up...

The only prophetic sign was Jonah.

Not according to Mark's gospel.

Mark 8:12 He sighed deeply and said, “Why does this generation ask for a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to it.”

And Jonah was a prophecy about Jesus too? Wow, amazing how all those "prophecies" were fulfilled in Jesus.

And we are just letting Paul's "according to the Scriptures" slide, right? I think it's clear that the Christian authors were simply picking and choosing the Old Testament stories and saying and had then attributed to Jesus.

It's very ironic that today's Christians have such an emphasis on the "context" even as they agree that Hosea 11:1 was a prophecy.

Are you familiar with the concept of Midrash? There is an opinion out there that the NT Authors wrote the NT stories by picking and choosing parts of the Old Testament and created their narrative based on those stories that were 'revealed' them by reading the Scriptures (i.e. Old Testament)

Why, yes I am familiar with the concept of Midrash. Even so, I'm be more than happy to read your source by Price and see what he has to say in comparison to that which my sources have to say on the same subject.
