I concluded that the only reason God would destroy (or have destroyed) whole cities is because they pose a threat to the survival of humanity. The abominations they practiced were so evil, profound, and pervasive that if allowed to continue, the wickedness would spread to all humanity and destroy every human being on the planet. Today, we see some examples in terrorism, bio and chemical weapons, abortion, trans, gay, and other abominations. Eventually, These will drop the population replacement rate so low that humanity will not survive as a species.
Hence, He "nipped it in the bud." I fear we are heading for such a purge today.

Has nothing to do with the Nephilim bloodlines ... there was great wickedness in the city ... so God executed judgement on it.

They indulged in every wickedness and refused to turn their hearts to the Lord and repent. When Lot tried to convince them to do the right thing just once, they called him judgmental, and tried to assault him too. This situation is similar to when God sent the flood, sparing Noah. The people were obsessed with evil, meditating only on sin, and refused to turn to God for forgiveness, despite warnings.

What happened at Sodom and Gomorrah serves as both a warning for all people, and a prophetic image of what will happen one day when Jesus returns in His full glory; “Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all — so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed” (Luke 17:28-30). Here, Jesus warned His followers that all nations will face the judgment of God, poured out.

A bad person is someone that doesn't put their faith in God and follows after their carnal, lustful nature instead; a heart bent on the lusts of the flesh instead of the love of God.

Nothing (as far as I can see) is said in the bible account of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah to suggest that God did it to rid the earth of the remnants of the Nephilim blood lines. God said:

Yes 8 people survived the flood and according to the Bible the Sons of God and the daughters of men had children who were giants. The Sons of God in Genesis 6 are fallen angels
