It's difficult to explain to an American how misleading that article is. If you want to get a better picture of the state of religion in the UK just google 'decline in religion UK' and skim through a few of the results.
41% admit to it, the real number maybe higher or lower. Then you have to ask just what is a punch or a hit. When I was in my 20's it was really no big deal for a women to hit me. Compared to getting hit by a man you could hardly feel it. I did have one girl friend who had 5 brothers who were a bit rough with her growing up. If she hit you then you could at least feel it and know you had gotten hit. I eventually did break up with her because she was a little bit to much of a wild cat for me.Forty-one percent of English women have punched or kicked their partners.
The main claim to fame of the King James Version is that they got rid of the anti government attitude that you find in earlier translations.Well, I certainly tip my hat to England, who gave us the AV1611 King James Bible.
What's that one-hit wonder in the '70s about a woman who blames cognitive dissonance for making her feel like an atheist? It's difficult to explain to an American how misleading that article is. Is it true that people are not allowed to stand for office in the US if they do not say they believe in a God and that Atheists can not apply?
Would you?More than half of the people that vote are religious and would not vote for an atheist.
Would you?
Rick Santorum explained yesterday ...
Using one of your crusade analogies, I vote for people despite their religious beliefs, not because of them.
Would you?
Voting an atheist to be President is like appointing someone who doesn't believe we went to the moon as director of NASA.I agree. You never know why religious people are doing things, or who they are doing them for. I mean, it's hard to enough to trust an average person who claims to have a relationship with an invisible friend, but a politician?
If this country should ever turn its back on Israel -- it's over, in my opinion.I would much rather vote for an atheist who thought things through, rather than, say, an evangelical Christian who made decisons based on his "gut."
Just not in any way that you can demonstrate....
God gave us this country,
Do you have any idea of how comical this sounds? Would not your omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent deity see the hand coming? Would it sting?and it would be a slap in His face to vote an atheist in office -- anywhere, not just the Presidency.
I really don't expect you to understand.Just not in any way that you can demonstrate.
