It has not been established that the universe had a beginning, or that if it did, that a deity of any sort was required.

Other than a bible story, why would one think that your deity exists, and existed prior to the existence of the universe (as nonsensical as that sounds)?

Pick one thing in Genesis that doesn't make snse when we actually read the verse, compare the science, and make sure the passage does say what it says.

Certainly, the Pangea-like collecting of "all the waters under heaven together into one place" is hard to dismiss, for instance.
