He missed out the bit that said it was 13.2 billion years old because someone must have told him that it was only 6000 years old and he believed them.
More like you missed out on the difference between how old something is, and how long something has been in existence, newbie.

Remember I saying this?
Thus 5.84 billion miles x 6016 years = about 35 trillion miles to date.
Our galaxy -- however old you say it is -- has only been in existence (and thus rotating) for 6016 years.

Otherwise, I would have written:
Thus 5.84 billion miles x 13.2 billion years = ...

Just about every person I know has the same reaction to this. If we can not trust and believe God to tell us how old the universe is, then how can we trust and believe in Him for anything?

Is there anyone in your church that has this belief or are you the only one?

Jazer, if science says the universe is 13.2 billion years old, then so will I.

If tomorrow, science 'discovers' that the universe is 10 quinseptajillion years old, then I won't argue the point.

What I will argue though, is if someone says the universe has been in existence longer than 6016 years, i.e. time itself.

My pastor is YEC, but he believes God embedded age into the universe.

I personally don't think a person can be both YEC and Embedded Age at the same time; so I let him go with YEC, and I claim Embedded Age.

I assume the rest of our congregation is YEC, with embedded-age overtones.

Semantics aside, I'd like to know what you were taught as a child with regards to the age of the earth.
I can't remember -- I'm pretty sure it was YEC.

I was brought up American Baptist, and left the church to become an agnostic at the age of 16.

In the service, they put NO PREF on my dog tags.

When I got out of the service, I started leaning towards one of three religions: Catholicism, Hare Krishna, or New Age.

It is at that time that the Holy Spirit moved me in the direction of Jesus Christ for salvation --

I am now an independent, fundamental Baptist.

So you believe time itself began 6016 years ago and science believes that time began at the big bang billions of years ago. Other then a very small percentage of die hard atheists I think that most everyone would agree that something began 6016 years ago with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Perhaps not everyone agrees on exactly what happened at that point in time.

What? Not even most Christians believe that.

You are kidding, right? Except for the "die hard atheists", which may be more than you think, there are other religions in the world that do not subscribe to the "garden of Eden" mythos.
