Please show me where I said I "want to lie to use the wrong restroom".....please show me that. That is why I posted what I said so you can't misrepresent it.....guess it did not work.

1) You said you would lie.
2) You admitted it was the wrong restroom (paraphrasing).

So, you are saying that a transgender cannot say they feel female on one day and male on another?

Transgender is an adjective. You wouldn't say "are you a bald?". The correct usage is "transgender person".

In the broadest sense of the term, people who identify as non-binary are technically transgender, but as far as restrooms go, the use of transgender typically refers to transsexuals. That's what the laws are about at this time. That's the usage I've been talking about.

Do you speak for all transgender?

I don't speak for all transgender people, but I do know what I'm talking about.

Now it sounds like you are just making things up. Please show me where I said anything even remotely like that.......

I won't have any problem. I'll simply bold the parts in question:

So, show me where that is wrong according to what the Charlotte Ordinance stated.....I have to lie to use the womens room by stating I feel like a female today.....
And "funky" was just an example....it could be for any reason or no reason at all.....
Oh, and BTW I am not transgender if that helps clear anything up.....

There you go. Like you said, you are specific enough.

However, this conversation is probably considered against the rules since it is now directly about trans people and not about "lying" or "feeling like a female today" simply because the bathroom was "funky", so I will continue no further.

And I would like to point out , again, that Paypal didn't cancel the expansion because of the bathroom bill portion of HB2, but rather the nullification of LGBT protections in Charlotte.

Hi Arcangl86, I want to make sure I'm understanding what you're saying. How were lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender "protections" nullified in Charlotte?

Thanks!

The state law nullified any non-discrimination ordinances that went beyond the state's protections.

Along with getting this issue publicity, yes? So win/win yet for some reason people are castigating them for it.
Does the issue of the countries having horrible laws against homosexuality that I mentioned not deserve publicity? Why aren't they doing it there?

Not actively fighting against regimes with human rights abuses is now the moral equivalent of murdering homosexuals?
What an odd comment, it's almost as if you didn't read what I said.
Here is what you said:
Not what I am asking. Does support, in whatever capacity, of states that have human rights abuses negate other areas in which we are attempting to do good?
Here is my response:
That'd be a great argument for the Saudi's to use, "Sure we murder homosexuals for being who they are but look at all the good things we do!"
Could you point out what part of the above statement gave you the idea I was talking about moral equivalences?

I was pointing out, "Well look at all the good things we do" is a potential response from governments with serious human rights violations.

Hi CT, what kind of things, specifically, were nullified? (I didn't realize there was an issue beyond the restrooms).

Thanks again!

I thought it was because she was running for President of the United States and not Pakistan or India.
I thought she was the champion of ALL women, not just the thumb on the neck of America...

And here I thought she'd cabinet member and had considerable pull. Given how much assistance the US gives Pakistan and India, that is over the past 66 years Pakistan is the number one recipient of American financial assistance with India coming in at number 5, you don't think she could have tried to work to make the lives of women easier in those countries with that kind of pull?

Quote me....you know that little black bar that appears when your right click on something....
Transgender is an adjective. You wouldn't say "are you a bald?". The correct usage is "transgender person".
As I said on another thread if my life depended on diagraming a sentence I would simply shoot myself and save them the trouble.
You have accused me of making statements I did not make and then failed to provide even the smallest amount of evidence to support your claims.
Now you go hide behind "oh, we are off topic, I can't speak anymore". We have been off topic for quite some time and that did not seem to bother you in the least. Why now? Running out of excuses to defend your position?

You think it was paypal not bringing a few hundred jobs that made him do it?
Given the read of that article, I think the governor has lost his mind.
He signed a bill into law that causes transsexuals to use the bathroom that corresponds to their biological birth. Now he wants an executive order that allows for lawsuits based on discrimination.

He's essentially said, he upholds the standards of gender specific bathrooms but he wants to make it so that the upset transsexual community opposed to that law he signed can sue heck out of the state. Due to the law he signed restricting transsexuals access to their birth gender bathrooms, if anyone believes the law he signed is discriminatory.
