Not with a Mac
Ba da dum... (back at ya!)
I'm pretty sure you can't catch anything from a cyber-hug so...
I'm not so sure about that.
I think Rev got bitten by something a while back from that very thing.

You Mac enthusiasts just wait until someone writes a virus for a Mac. Then you'll find out what a pleasure dealing with a virus or a worm actually is.![]()
I imagine we'll be waiting a long time. It's not for lack of trying. I have a friend who writes test bugs for the PCs at his company whose been trying for five years now to write a bug that gets the mac. He hasn't come up with one yet.
The problem with macs is that they're exclusive and expensive. When my last mac's graphics went on the fritz, the repair cost would've been $300 less than a NEW mac. So I got a new mac.
Yeah, you will. Macinstosh doesn't have the large following that the PC does. So writing a virus or worm or anything else for a Mac is kinda pointless if your desire is to infect a whole bunch of computers. I'd love to get a Mac, I really would, but a lot of peripherals don't work with Macs and I love to play PC games and a lot of games just aren't compatible with Macs, but Macs have the better hardware for games I was told about 10 years ago as compared to the PC. So I just said, "i'll buy an XBox 360 and be done with it." LOL
My 13 year old loves the graphics on my computer, but hates the fact that the games for it are about two versions behind the PS and Xbox ones.
I have a friend who works on computers for a living and he says it's completely a myth that there are no Mac viruses. There are certainly fewer but that's because there are fewer Macs to infect and so fewer codes written to infect them.
I bought my Windows Vista PC not too long after Vista came out and I really haven't had any problems with it (I had finally decided it was time to upgrade from Windows 98 when AT&T was offering DSL in my area but wouldn't support anything less than Windows XP). I paid $250 for my PC with the operating system already installed (after mailing in the rebates from e-machines) and it does everything I want it to do. Bibleworks runs great on it (I've heard some Mac users have had problems using this wonderful program).
I would probably take a Mac if someone gave it to me for free or would consider purchasing one if they were the same price as PCs but I can't afford to be part of the cultish Mac crowd--plus I'm afraid they might try to brain-wash me into thinking that Vista doesn't work and my computer will be full of viruses and all the other propaganda![]()
The easiest thing to do is keep the cheep PC. You really can't beat the price. THen put in a different operating system like a Linux derivative. There are hundreds of them out there and many can be downloaded free. They are a lot more user friendly than they were years ago and can be bullet proof if you don't start experimenting with them plus....... they are more powerfull than either WIndow or MacOS and........... NO VIRUSES!!
THey can also be run on older machines all the way back to 8088s and take up considerable less room than WIndos or MacOS. GIgabites less. If you want to be able to run your windows programs and don't want to spent more money for Linux applications just use an emulator built into Linux.
What's really wonderful is that we aren't hearing "oh PC is WAY better than Mac, how can you be Lutheran if you use Mac... etc, or vice versa"See, we CAN get along...provided we all speak geek-speak!!![]()
