  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Peace in Christ.

There are 2 groups of Christians….the dead and the living. Jesus both died and rose, and revived for us all so that He may be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

What we have witnessed so far in Christian history are the “dead” as they have all mortally perished without inheriting an age-lasting life (aka “eternal life”).

They were/are the “flock of the slaughter”…the “vessels of wrath”… as their “pastors” did not feed them the Word of Truth (because of their lack of understanding of the gospel) and were led astray down the broad way to their mortal destruction. They believed in Christ but were led astray from the path that leads to His manifest life. MANY have gone down the broad way that led to their mortal destruction. Matthew 7:13-14 .

But Christ is both the Lord of the “dead” and the living. The "dead"...the first group of Christians... are the last in the resurrection (AT the last day of this age)...while the "last" group of Christians in this age are FIRST in the resurrection.

Rom 14:8-9 KJV
(8) For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

(9) For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

The “dead” Christians shall live again as they will be resurrected AT the “last day” of this age. They believed in Christ but they had mortally died (as they were led astray by false prophets.) The "first" group (the MANY "dead") shall be "last" in the resurrection. the first shall be last and the last shall be first.

Joh 11:25-26
(25) Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead (though he died), yet shall he live:

But the “living” Christians are those who shall live and believe in Him. They shall NEVER DIE into the age. They will be kept mortally standing here by Christ in this earth TO the “last day” of this age. This is the last group of Christians that are yet to be. The last shall be first in the resurrection. They will be the "few" who will find life. Can we believe this?

(26) And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die (INTO THE AGE). Believest thou this?

The “living” Christians are the “firstfruits” as we shall hear the Word of Truth and will believe in it.

The “dead” never got to hear it and have fallen asleep in Christ. They are termed "asleep" for the duration of this age. He will bring them back again AT the last day of this age when death (the last enemy) is defeated.

Jas 1:18-20 KJV
(18) Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

We are to be swift to hear the Word of Truth and slow to speak and slow to wrath.

(19) Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
(20) For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

We…those who will hear the Word of Truth and believe in it…are the “living” who will manifest the presence of Jesus in our mortal flesh so that the people of the outside world may see and also believe and receive an age-lasting life. His manifest life in our mortal flesh keeps us mortally standing here now in this earth for the duration of this age....an age-lasting life.

1Co 15:22-26
(22) For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Christ the firstfruits are the “living” Christians who will be kept standing here mortally in this earth manifesting the life of Jesus to the people of the outside world. We are the firstfruits of His “creatures”….who are the people of the outside world.

We HEAR the Word of Truth and believe while the people of the outside world will SEE and believe as we manifest His presence to them.

They are His at His “coming”…that is, PRESENCE (Parousia.) The believers among the people of the world (who will SEE His presence being made manifest through us His firstfruits) shall also receive an age-lasting life. They will NOT DIE but will continue to live to the last day of this age.

They are the “eagles” who will gather together around the living body of Christ. Luke 17:37 . The eagles SEE the living prey and are drawn to it.

They are the “clouds” of heaven that the Son of man (those who manifest His life) comes upon.

(23) But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming (Greek: Parousia = PRESENCE).

We…with Christ…will put down all rule and all authority and power….THEN the end of this age comes. We have an age-lasting life to achieve this through Christ. We will not mortally die.

(24) Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
(25) For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

The last enemy of this age to be destroyed is death. This comes AT the last day of this age.

(26) The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

At this time (at the last day of this age), the “dead” Christians will then be resurrected. They will have missed out on the gathering of everything in Christ on this earth.

The “living” shall not “sleep” for the duration of this current age at all as they will be kept standing here mortally in this earth TO the last day of this age. They will then be changed from mortal into immortal thereby circumventing death completely in Christ.

At the last trumpet of this age…the last day of this age, the “dead” Christians that had mortally perished (the “corruptible”) will then be resurrected incorruptible….nonperishable. They believed in Christ but had mortally perished because they were led astray by false prophets to their deaths. But we are assured that God will bring them back with Jesus.

1Co 15:51-52 KJV
(51) Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

(52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

The “dead” Christians will be raised AT the last day. They had mortally died. They lost their mortal bodies…but God will give them a body as He determines.

But the "living" Christians will have kept their mortal bodies until then which at that time shall be changed from mortal to immortal. They will have never mortally died but will have kept living until the redemption of the body.

1Co 15:35-38 KJV
(35) But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
(36) Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
(37) And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:

(38) But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

You're merging so many concepts that shouldn't be merged because the context of the topic doesn't fit, even if you're applying the same term. Being a lost sheep and being spiritually dead = not saved. You aren't going to be resurrected in life, if you aren't saved. Now, unsaved will be resurrected at the very end and be judged and then thrown into the lake of fire, but that's a completely different concept and not the same as being symbolically alive vs dead.
Ephesians 2:1 - "And you were dead in the trespasses and sins."
Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Luke 15:24,32 - (The Parable of the Prodigal Son) "...for this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’
But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”
Notice in like it says alive "again". So being a lost sheep is being spiritually dead, but being found again is being alive again.

This is why Jesus said not everyone who calls him Lord will enter his kingdom because if people are being led away from him via false doctrine or false prophets, they will be apart of that crowd that might call him Lord, but will not enter his kingdom (Matthew 7). You're essentially saying that all people who are led astray (lost sheep) are still saved and that contradicts Jesus's statement of calling him Lord and not entering his kingdom, along with other parables and teachings. Your interpretation goes against a scripture teachings, so either you are correct, and scripture has errors, or you're misunderstanding since the two can't be true at the same time.
