Why can't I find God?

1whoseeks,

The nice thing is that God is always there for us no matter how many times we fall down on that path. For a long time I really didn't believe this, and I was also bitter, but now I'm pretty sure it's true. I think lately of the quote from Shakespeare, something like "The fault is not in our stars, Horatio, but in ourselves", because it is always my own path that causes the pain. Take care and hang in there. I think God knows our lives.. he reads the book.

I feel your pain. Starting over with God is not a bad place to be. Many Christians know who Christ is. We sometimes forget that there are "3 in One". The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit. After we come to know Christ, some of us could benefit if we would go forward and let God reveal Himself too. I am talking about the Father. Did you know that, just like you, He too wants to express Himself too? I am not talking about how Loving He feels towards you, which He does very much which is why He sent His Son to redeem you. But God has things that He is frustrated with and many times we forget to let Him get things off His chest. He hurts just like you do but no one will take the time to listen to Him. I mean really listen. Too often we can hinder Him from sharing His disappointments and frustration because we focus so much on Love that we ignore His need to express His sadness. He just wants someone who is willing to let just let Himtalk about how He feels. What makes Him angry, what makes Him upset sometimes. Why don't you sit down and have a "heart to heart" talk with Him. Let Him talk and share His grievance with you. All He wants is someone like you to listen. To find out who He is and how He feels, I know you will begin to feel more closer to God if you would read the whole books of Isaiah and Jeremiah. In these two books, God speaks alot of how he feels. Yes, God actually does the speaking Himself in these books. Don't you care to listen to Him? If you don't care how He feels, how can you expect Him to care how you feel? Show Him you care about Him like you want Him to be attentive to your feelings when you are down. He is upset that many do not care about His feelings and He wants to tell you about it. Perhaps you could be re-introduced to God if you start there. I bet this could be the beginning of a whole new relationship for you. Then when you finish these two books, read Proverbs. Read these books alone with God so that He can have your undivided attention. After that I bet you will begin to have a new direction, a new fulfillment that you have not had in a very long time. If you give this a sincere try, ( you have nothing to lose) I think you will not be sorry. Try to read these three books straight through, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Proverbs, in that order within one month without fail. Just think, in just one month I believe you can be reborn. So don't delay, find your favorite Holy Bible, no matter which author or translation, let the Spirit guide you to the one that you can easily understand and is comfortable with and begin immediately. Don't let anyone else decide for you, let it be between you and God. That is how you begin, with just you and God. AMEN!

Dude, I've never had any miraculous change in my life. Everything has been little bumps and little hills...nothing major, no cliffs really. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, you may change over a longer period of time than you want. Just a little something to help you out...I hope this does.
