Greetings,
I simply do not believe that hell exists, at least not in literal form. If there is a hell, it is a creation within a persons mind which becomes a self-imposed punisment in the afterlife.
I supposed in some ways, the morals and values I hold, and my desire to attain a measure of sacredness, comes from my desire to NOT create such a personal hell. This would be concurrent with my belief that any transgressions I commit will come back to me in one form or another (call it Karma, the rule of three, etc., I don't really put a name to it). So yes, fear of retribution may certainly exist. In my heart, though, I aspire to be of a more sacred nature for the sake of sacredness, and not so much because of that fear.
Respectfully,
Druweid
