OI!!!!

STOP IT!

This thread is not for arguing or belittling other's faith. It is to understand why they believe in hell or how it makes them feel. IT IS CALLED DISCUSSION. So leave Paladin Dave alone.

If you have nothing to contribute in the way of expressing your own feeling then kindly feel free to play on through. Leave us to a peaceable discussion PLEASE!

I've got a 'thing' for Warner Bros. cartoons.

But, I'm trying at the moment to do an impression of a civilised human being :)
And you know what, it hasn't gone unnoticed by this human being also doing her best to be civilised :) You rock !

I thought I was discussing my thoughts on the matter. I think I made it clear that I felt it was an unjust construct. I wasn't attacking Dave, in fact I'm grateful he responded to the questions I have on the issue. My probing of who goes to hell and why is simply to fleshout hell as a construct. My understanding of it could be incorrect, and if don't ask the questions that I have on the matter how can I make an informed decision about it?

Perhaps you should start a thread titled...Who goes to hell, but I wouldn't really advice it as that is a VERY Touchy subject. I just want this thread kept ON Topic and friendly :)

you dont think God agrees???
Anyone can claim God agrees with what they write. Muslims undoubtedly have many citations in the Koran that say God agrees with it. Does that persuade you that the Koran is the word of God? If not, then why do you think quoting the Bible where the writers claim God agrees with them will make me believe God agrees with them?

You cannot be a vegetarian, follow the ancient Greek Pantheon, or any other religion(or lack there of) and call yourself a Hindu or Bhuddist because you do not believe in eating meat.

I think what you meant to say is that "you cannot be a meat-eater..."

I don't think so. I think he was saying that that one shouldn't call oneself a Hindu or a Buddhist simply because they're a vegetarian. Not that Hinduism and Buddhism require vegetarianism, but that's not the point. I believe that his point was that one doesn't automatically become an adherent of a certain religion just because they ascribe to at least one belief associated with it.
