Are you saying out of all your friends that are husbands and wives, you have yet to see even one single loyal and honest wife? I find that impossible.

That is your problem buddy, not mine. Your experience is far too limited to even entertain the idea that here in the real world, we aren't all happily married and shucking out rug rats every nine months to make more soldiers for Christ. No, here in the real world, we deal with things like infidelity, divorce, child support, spousal abuse, and a lot of other icky things.

Well, since I'm so ornery and snappy tonight, I may as well just double post.

I'm single because I have too many issues to ever sort out, and I'm not interested enough in what a woman could offer to bother dealing with them. I didn't like my own mother; I barely tolerated either of the women I made the mistake of marrying, and by and large I'd rather throw rocks at women than to interact with them. On here, I pretend the females aren't women - I dehumanize them so I can respond to them without having a bout of Tourette's on my keyboard.

I trust that your mom is terrible and both of your ex-wives were terrible. I trust that all of infidelity, divorce, child support and spousal abuse did happened. But it would still be a mistake to say all women are like those 3 bad and terrible women. I am sure you know that is not the case.

My point is not that evil women don't exist or that all women are good. I have seen evil and Jezebel's do exist. My point it we shouldn't paint every women with the same brush.

@BadHabit If I was going to base the entire male population off of my experience with men, I would also say y'all are awful.

However, I know that, my feelings aside, the actual number of awful men is about 98%...

Sometimes a positive mindset is key. Look forward to meeting one of the 2%, and accept they are out there, rather than grouping 'em all together and giving up entirely..

I think the most important thing is to not let the bitterness of the past grab hold of your future. We miss out on a lot of great potential experiences when we let that side of us win.

Hmm, if same percentages apply to women, that means statistically that I have to date only 49 evil women to get to the first 2-percenter, only to find out that she likes rap-music, or has some other absolute deal-breaker like that. Then all I have to do is to go for another 49 dates....

Seriously though, I've met enough great, admirable women to believe such a creature is not just folk mythology. I'm much more conserned about the "compatibility as partners" - part with women I get interested in, rather than about the existence of good women. It's one thing to meet someone whom you think is a great person, and another thing to a) both happen to share a romantic interest at the same time and b) be compatible enough to think about sharing your lives with each other.

Well, seriously, what I'm rambling might sound over-thinking for younger people, but in my age, most women are in a bit of a hurry to get started with kids, and people usually know reasonably well what they want to do with their lives, so things like that get brought up pretty early.

If we talk about casual dating or just having fun, then you're right. Only thing needed is her to not be a career criminal and for us both to like each other enough to not having to hold our noses. Everything else is details.
