I've been divorced for three years. I'm 47 but get mistaken for being in my late 30's (twice last week), I own my own home, have a decent job, financially secure, don't do drugs, am nice, have a great sense of humor, am honest, don't play games, respect women, am a great listener, etc, etc.

But, I am 6'2" and 300lbs. Mostly muscle but I am out of shape. I'm very active and every weekend I am either in the outdoors or working on my home.

Plus, I don't go to church. I really, really want to, but I work crazy hours and can't wake up before 10am. I tried to join a home group, but they all disbanded when Summer started. I refuse to date non-Christians and this area is bereft of Christian women online. Search results on dating sites for Christian women between 32 and 48 around here result in fewer than 6 women within 25 miles.

Plus, I'm not all that attractive. I thought I was reasonably attractive in the past, but after being rejected multiple times in the three years since my divorce, I've had to come to the realization that I must be ugly. And fat. No matter; I am happy being unattached and living life how I please.

You can analyse it all you want, the fact is - when ALL is said and done, you have NOT recovered from the divorce. The way you feel about yourself now is simply a knock on effect from all of the feelings that have manifested themselves over the past three years.

Sounds like backhanded jealousy to me. And I'm not saying that to earn any Brownie Points, I've just seen it a LOT in my time. Anyone who possesses natural beauty, a skill, a talent, or particular way of thinking, is usually downplayed and ridiculed by those who seek only mediocrity.

Some people would read my post, and say "what a hipster" - and I would say, "you've just proven my point."
