mwb said:Jenster, you give this forum so much life with your insights.
Jenster said:I just feel very embarrassed to put my picture online - it's a little too public. I don't mind people my friends knowing that I'm single and available, but it's uncomfortable to me to have acquaintances (or co-workers?) knowing that I'm out there looking. I suppose that doesn't make any sense, but that's how I feel!
I'd rather go to a group event (Christian singles group, etc.) anyway, since I'm on the computer much of the day.
BTW, FlatpickingJD - LOL about your sister's shirt.
HoosierCanuck said:I want one of those shirts!!!! lol
I've tried the online thing....honesty? what's that? Unfortunately, that's been my experience. Online is no different than real life....if you're not a size 0, forget about getting a date. Again, that's been my experience. I can't say it's true for everyone. I'm just lucky, I guess. I find all the shallow ones.

Also, Jenster
Don't be shy. Shyness if not a sin should be at least a curse to oneself. Assertive women that are "looking" are very attractive to men.
The problem with online dating services is it costs money and I have found very few people are what they say they are. In this world there are alot of dishonest people, and even more that unintentionally mislead you. Dating is hard enough face to face, let alone over the Internet.

Stanfi said:Yeah, and if your not very photogenic, forget it too!.

Sometimes I think that after I've showered and attempted to do something with my limp, lifeless, thinned-out hair. ugh!
a funny side note...I travel alot for work and share a hotel with another lady every other Mon/Tues. Whenever I know I've had a restless night or a night where I've had vivid dreams (or at least remember them) I always ask her the next day if I made any strange noises. lol I'm really self concious of that for some reason. Snoring, talking, grinding my teeth.....expelling the day's gasses.
...sigh......
Tumbleweed64 said:My roomate does that for reals, and to make it worse, she slept on the sofa in here in the summer to be by the A/C! and I always awake long before her... so I would be sitting here, and hearing, "snore snore, mumble mumble, cough cough, fart fart!!!
